[Bug 1530913] Re: [SRU] liberty point releases
Hello James, or anyone else affected, Accepted horizon into wily-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/horizon/2:8.0.1-0ubuntu1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository. Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision. [Bug 1211110] Re: network manager openvpn dns push data not updating system DNS addresses
DaveHenson, It doesn't solve the bug, but I think you can solve the problem of entering your usr/pwd on each connect in terminal by adding your usr/pwd to a simple text file (e.g., file.txt) that is literally nothing but your credentials: (line 1) usr (line 2) pwd located in the same dir. where your .conf or .ovpn file is located. Be sure also to change this credential file's permissions to read/wrt for root only (chmod 600). There's no explanation for the request to move to universe, it builds fine in main (as can be seen from the build records) and, furthermore, archive admins don't generally mess with other people's seeds, we react when they change. [Bug 1542438] Re: Python LXC api needs to be much better at error reporting
Thanks, if it turns out there is more that lxc could do please do reply here or open a github issue. Doing more in the C api woudl be tough, as we'd presumably need to allocate memory for the error msg which the caller would need to free. Returning more in the python API could be doable if it could control the lxc.logfile and present the output after a failure, but since the caller may want to set those himself it's not so simple. Not sure what to do with the status of this bug. If we re-title it general failure logging improvements then it definately could be Confirmed. Otherwise it may be Invalid, not sure. [Bug 1544216] [NEW] libiscsi support is disabled
Public bug reported: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libiscsi/+bug/1271653 has been filed and is under review by the security team. Hopefully libiscsi will be promoted to main before feature freeze of 16.04. Meanwhile, we should be optimistic and prepare a build of qemu with libiscsi support turned on and test it, potentially morphing this into a feature freeze exception request if the MIR makes it a bit tight to get the upload in. Having libiscsi support in 16.04 will allow users to run OpenStack Nova with stock qemu 16.04 in containers on _any_ host OS in an unprivileged container. ** Affects: qemu (Ubuntu) Importance: High Status: Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1544216 Title: libiscsi support is disabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+bug/1544216/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1398999] Re: Block migrate with attached volumes copies volumes to themselves
Reviewed: https://review.openstack.org/227278 Committed: https://git.openstack.org/cgit/openstack/nova/commit/?id=23fd0389f0e23e7969644079f4b1ad8504cbb8cb Submitter: Jenkins Branch:master commit 23fd0389f0e23e7969644079f4b1ad8504cbb8cb Author: Pawel KoniszewskiDate: Wed Feb 10 13:09:44 2016 +0100 Allow block live migration of an instance with attached volumes Since libvirt 1.2.17 it is possible to select which block devices should be migrated to destination host. Block devices that are not provided will not be migrated. It means that it is possible to exclude volumes from block migration and therefore prevent volumes from being copied to themselves. This patch implements new check of libvirt version. If version is higher or equal to 1.2.17 it is possible to block live migrate vm with attached volumes. [Bug 1536882] Re: upload golang1.6 package for trusty
** Summary changed: - upload golang1.5 package for trusty + upload golang1.6 package for trusty ** Description changed: - There is a need to provide a version of Go 1.5 in trusty-updates. We + There is a need to provide a version of Go 1.6 in trusty-updates. We can't upgrade the golang package itself in trusty because that will cause other packages to ftbfs so the best place seems to be providing a - golang1.5 package that juju and other consumers can build depend upon. + golang1.6 package that juju and other consumers can build depend upon. There is an expectation that new versions of juju will be made available in trusty-updates. trusty was released with version 1.2 of Go, which is almost indescribably ancient in Go terms. The Go team maintains at most two versions of Go, so 1.4 and 1.5 at the time of writing but this will be 1.5 and 1.6 in a few weeks, which means that trusty will soon be 3 versions behind a supported version. In particular, authors of third-party packages that juju depends upon are mostly no longer supporting go 1.2. Specific examples of packages this affects: * lxd client code requires Go 1.3+ (currently not built on trusty) - the new Azure provider requires Go 1.3+ (needed for centos and windows - workloads in azure) - * vmware provider requires Go 1.3+ (currently vendored and hacked to work - with 1.2) + the new Azure provider requires Go 1.3+ (needed for centos and windows + workloads in azure) + * vmware provider requires Go 1.3+ (currently vendored and hacked to work + with 1.2) * the systemd go bindings require Go 1.3+ (currently vendored and hacked - to work with 1.2) + to work with 1.2) - In addition, Go 1.5 is available for all supported architectures in + In addition, Go 1.6 is available for all supported architectures in trusty, which means the Juju developers and release managers do not have to worry about bugs and different behaviours in gccgo (such as the rather alarming https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1517611 ) as well as the gc compiler. [Test Case] - None as such. Just that the golang1.5-go package is installable. + None as such. Just that the golang1.6-go package is installable (and + properly conflicts with golang-go). [Regression Potential] This is to be a new package, so none. [Building the packages] - A wrinkle is that Go 1.5 requires Go 1.4 to bootstrap, which is not + A wrinkle is that Go 1.5+ require Go 1.4 to bootstrap, which is not available in trusty. Also there is no version of the 1.4 gc compiler for arm64 or ppc64le, which means that the only option is to build with gccgo 5. While it presumably would be possible to create temporary gccgo 5 packages for trusty that could be used to build the package, this is - an almighty lot of work compared to building the package once in wily or - xenial, binary copying this to trusty and then rebuilding it with the - copied package there. + an almighty lot of work compared to building the package once in xenial, + binary copying this to trusty and then rebuilding it with the copied + package there. - I have built packages for this here + I have built packages for Go 1.5 here http://people.canonical.com/~mwh/go15trusty/ -- the plan would be to upload 1.5.3-0ubuntu1~bootstrap to xenial in a devirted all arch PPA, binary copy the result to trusty, upload 1.5.3-0ubuntu1 to trusty in the ppa and then binary copy this to the archive. I have done these steps in a ppa: https://launchpad.net/~mwhudson/+archive/ubuntu/go15-trusty/+packages but unfortunately made some stupid mistakes which means the version - numbers are not quite what I'd want, so the packages will need to be - built again if this process is approved. + numbers are not quite what I'd want.
