[Bug 1544157] Re: lxc exec not working in xenial

2016-02-15 Thread Serge Hallyn
Apparently the fixes we need should already be in the xenial lxc
packages. Could you please try (in one root terminal)

systemctl stop cgmanager

then see whether you're still able to start apps?

(If not, then in that terminal again do 'systemctl start cgmanager')

[Bug 1545913] [NEW] [FFe] juju-core 2.0

2016-02-15 Thread Cheryl Jennings
Public bug reported:

The Juju team is preparing for a 2.0-beta1 release in time for the
xenial feature freeze date (18-Feb), but not all features required for
2.0 will be ready by that date. We believe we will have a complete and
stable Juju 2.0 by the time of the xenial release, but we need to
request a feature freeze exception for the following features:

- Juju-GUI in Core
- Removal of LXC from 2.0 codebase
- Model migration
- MAAS 2.0 support
- Keystone 3 support

These features are critical for a final Juju 2.0 release.

[Bug 1432062] Re: multipath-tools-boot: support booting without user_friendly_names on devices with spaces in identifiers

2016-02-15 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package multipath-tools - 0.4.9-3ubuntu7.9

---
multipath-tools (0.4.9-3ubuntu7.9) trusty; urgency=medium

  * debian/patches/kpartx-support-device-names-with-spaces.patch: fix loopback
files unmapping. (LP: #1543430)

multipath-tools (0.4.9-3ubuntu7.8) trusty; urgency=medium

  * debian/patches/kpartx-support-device-names-with-spaces.patch: deal with
spaces in device names in kpartx too (LP: #1432062)
  * debian/initramfs/local-premount: wait for udev to settle before mounting
so the by-uuid/ symlinks have a chance to be updated by udev rules.
(LP: #1503286)
  * Allow device detection all through the initramfs: run multipathd instead
of only scanning once for devices, so those that come up slower can still
be used as a root device (LP: #1526984):
- debian/patches/0050-readonly-bindings_prefix.patch,
  debian/patches/0051-readonly-bindings_multipath.patch,
  debian/patches/0052-readonly-bindings_multipathd.patch,

Verified; this works as expected:

kpartx -av adds a loop device node and mounts the image, and sets up the
partitions.
kpartx -dv deletes the partition maps and removed the loop device node.

The kernel-libipsec plugin is optional; a user must apt-get install
libstrongswan-extra-plugins.
I've installed the extra plugins in a VM which uses NAT configuration and
none of the
networking was broken if the kernel-libipsec module was loaded (but
unconfigured).

However, I'm interested if you can expand on what setup would break? We
certainly don't want
break or surprise users so I'd like understand what "breaks" if the module
is loaded by default.

This would be a change compared to all other plugins so I'd like to
understand why
this plugin in the default configuration breaks any normal/LAN setups.

[Bug 1544612] Re: Missing fix for 1299975 claimed to be in pm-utils (1.4.1-13ubuntu0.1)

2016-02-15 Thread Dirk F
Thanks, Martin.

But, the absence of the enable[d] file is apparently a legitimate case,
and your patch as it stands causes an undesirable error message in the
PM log in that case, such as:

cat: /sys/class/net/wlan0/device/enable*: No such file or directory

Hence my original proposed test for the file's existence.

As an alternative you could have $(cat 2>/dev/null) but that would
risk masking a genuine error.

Incidentally, with a fix similar to the one you committed in place, I've
observed that the b43 driver, which gets the default power-save command
(lines 41-2 of wireless script) currently fails to respect the command,
eg:

# iwconfig wlan0 power on
Error for wireless request "Set Power Management" (8B2C) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Operation not supported.

Although the script has special cases for certain Intel drivers and you
could add eg new line 41 before the default case

b43) return1;;

I wouldn't recommend doing so both to avoid complexity (don't want it to
end up like pmutils video quirks) and more importantly in case a future
version of the driver fixes the lack of power-saving support.

Correct, for unprivileged containers, one has to make the tun device
available using:

lxc config device add $CTNAME tun unix-char path=/dev/net/tun

Then it works.

[Bug 1545821] [NEW] Regression: spice usbredirect causes windows client to crash

2016-02-15 Thread Ryan
Public bug reported:

I have been using Ubuntu 14.04.3 as the host OS for a series of Windows
based VM clients (Windows XP SP3 32-bit and Windows 10 Pro - 64bit) and
using 'spice-client-gtk' to proxy a usb device (a webcam). Everything
is fine if I use:

hi qemu-keymaps 2.0.0+dfsg-2ubuntu1.19
  all QEMU keyboard maps
hi qemu-kvm 2.0.0+dfsg-2ubuntu1.19
  amd64QEMU Full virtualization
hi qemu-system-common2.0.0+dfsg-2ubuntu1.19
amd64QEMU full system emulation binaries (common files)
hi qemu-system-x86 2.0.0+dfsg-2ubuntu1.19
amd64QEMU full system emulation binaries (x86)
hi qemu-utils2.0.0+dfsg-2ubuntu1.19
  amd64QEMU utilities

However, after I've upgraded to the latest stable version: 2.0.0+dfsg-
2ubuntu1.22.

* I start 'spicy'
* Connect to the remote windows guest
* Choose the webcam to export

Thus, far everything is normal (the device connects). Once I try to use
the webcam (from either skype or chrome) - I get a brief indeicator
light from the webcam... then the Windows XP Guest blue-screens and the
Windows 10 Pro Guest hardlocks.

I get no useful information from the Host's /var/log/syslog.

I've also tried to compile the latest version of remote-viewer from
source (version 3.1). When, it tries to connect to 2.0.0+dfsg-
2ubuntu1.22 the effect is the same, both windows guests crash. However,
after I've downgraded to 2.0.0+dfsg-2ubuntu1.19 both 'spicy' and the
compiled remote-version v3.1 work perfectly.

I also tried upgrading the usbdk version on the windows clients to the
most recent version v1.0.12 (from http://www.spice-
space.org/download/windows/usbdk/), but it had no effect. I also tried
a series of different webcams, the result was the same.

Here is a list of the packages that caused the error:

ii qemu-keymaps
2.0.0+dfsg-2ubuntu1.22 all QEMU keyboard
maps
ii qemu-kvm
2.0.0+dfsg-2ubuntu1.22 amd64QEMU Full
virtualization
ii qemu-system-common
2.0.0+dfsg-2ubuntu1.22 amd64QEMU full
system emulation binaries (common files)
ii qemu-system-x86
2.0.0+dfsg-2ubuntu1.22 amd64QEMU full
system emulation binaries (x86)
ii qemu-utils
2.0.0+dfsg-2ubuntu1.22 amd64QEMU utilities

Here is the version of spicy, I've used with both 1.19 and 1.22:

ii libspice-client-glib-2.0-8:amd64 0.22-0nocelt2
amd64GObject for communicating with Spice servers (runtime library)
ii libspice-client-gtk-2.0-4:amd64 0.22-0nocelt2
amd64GTK2 widget for SPICE clients (runtime library)
ii libspice-server1:amd640.12.4-0nocelt2ubuntu1.2
amd64Implements the server side of the SPICE protocol
ii spice-client-glib-usb-acl-helper 0.22-0nocelt2
amd64Spice client glib usb acl helper
ii spice-client-gtk 0.22-0nocelt2
amd64Simple clients for interacting with SPICE servers

My current work-around was to revert the qemu-* packages back to version
1.19. I don't know at which revision this error occurred, but it was
somewhere between 1.20 and 1.22.

How to recreate the problem:
* Create a windows VM (it might also apply to other guest o/s)
* Install spice-client-gtk
* Configure the VM to use spice
(https://people.freedesktop.org/~teuf/spice-doc/html/ch02s06.html)
* Start the VM
* Attach a webcam (or probably another other device)
* Within the VM start an application that uses the device (I'd used both Skype
and https://www.onlinemictest.com/webcam-test-in-adobe-flash via google-chrome)

[Bug 1545750] Re: Access denied if the share path is "/"

2016-02-15 Thread Dariusz Gadomski
Debdiff for Xenial.

** Description changed:

- The fix for bug #11395 / CVE-2015-5252
+ [Impact]
+
+ * User is denied access when trying to access a share "/"
+
+ [Test Case]
+
+ * Setup a Samba server
+
+ * Add a share with path "/"
+
+ * Try to access the share
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+
+ * This has been introduced upstream by security patch CVE-2015-5252.
+
+ * It has been already fixed upstream.
+
+ * This is just a backport of the fix.
+
+ [Other Info]
+
+ * Original bug description:

locked down the path checks in check_reduced_name[_with_privilege]() to
prevent unintended access via wide links.

The new checks do not correctly treat a corner case though: the case of
the share path being "/". (Important e.g. for using the glusterfs VFS

[Bug 1101779] Re: autofs "lookup_mount: exports lookup" fails on IPv6-only hosts

2016-02-15 Thread Simon Iremonger
There have been various upstream ipv6 related fixes in the debian/ubuntu

Is this bug still present in debian stretch and ubuntu xenial with newer autofs
packages ? I'd suggest testing ubuntu-xenial in particular as the next LTS
release (underpinning mint 18 LTS) to come out?

Hi Serge, Brian,

Thanks for looking at it, could the auto package tests re-run again or
some other approach to identify the failure, since I can't see how this
simple fix can break brocade-plugin showed in
http://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/packages/n/neutron/trusty/armhf/, plus if
it has passed the -proposal which if running the neutron tests, it
should be work for -updates as well.

brocade-plugin FAIL non-zero exit status 1
