[Bug 1546376] Re: package sa-compile 3.4.1-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 25

2016-02-16 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it
seems that a package failed to install due to a segmentation fault in
the application being used for the package installation process.
Unfortunately, this bug report isn't very useful in its current state
and a crash report would be much more useful. Could you try recreating
this issue by enabling apport to catch the crash report 'sudo service
apport start force_start=1' and then trying to install the same package
again? This process will create a new bug report so I am marking this
one as Invalid. Thanks again for helping out!

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1545913] Re: [FFe] juju-core 2.0

2016-02-16 Thread Cheryl Jennings
** Description changed:

The Juju team is preparing for a 2.0-beta1 release in time for the
xenial feature freeze date (18-Feb), but not all features required for
2.0 will be ready by that date. We believe we will have a complete and
stable Juju 2.0 by the time of the xenial release, but we need to
request a feature freeze exception for the following features:

  - Juju-GUI in Core
  - Removal of LXC from 2.0 codebase
  - Model migration
  - MAAS 2.0 support
  - Keystone 3 support
+ - Resources (validation of file extension, notification of resource updates
available from the charm store)
+ - Multi-model backup / restore enhancements
+ - Additional cloud credentials requirements
+ - Additional MAAS Spaces support
+

These features are critical for a final Juju 2.0 release.

[Bug 1546376] [NEW] package sa-compile 3.4.1-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 25

2016-02-16 Thread Louis Paul Ange Catherine
Public bug reported:

Bluetooth does not work after several reinstallations of Ubuntu 15.10
due to a memory crash. Please e-mail me informations of how to set this
if i need to do it manually.

Message from the system:
Connection to BlueZ failed Bluez daemon is not running, blueman-manager cannot
continue.
This probably means that there were no Bluetooth adapters detected or Bluetooth
daemon was not started.

Note: The bluetooth adapter works on Maze and windows 7. It was working before
the crash.
Thank you.

[Bug 1479652] Re: [patch] ntpd rejects source UDP ports less than 123 as bogus

2016-02-16 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package ntp - 1:4.2.8p4+dfsg-3ubuntu1

---
ntp (1:4.2.8p4+dfsg-3ubuntu1) xenial; urgency=medium

  * Merge from Debian testing. Remaining changes:
+ debian/rules: enable debugging. Ask debian to add this.
+ debian/rules, debian/ntp.dirs, debian/source_ntp.py: Add apport hook.
+ Add enforcing AppArmor profile:
  - debian/control: Add Conflicts/Replaces on apparmor-profiles.
  - debian/control: Add Suggests on apparmor.
  - debian/control: Build-Depends on dh-apparmor.
  - add debian/apparmor-profile*.
  - debian/ntp.dirs: Add apparmor directories.
  - debian/rules: Install apparmor-profile and apparmor-profile.tunable.
  - debian/source_ntp.py: Add filter on AppArmor profile names to prevent
false positives from denials originating in other packages.
  - debian/README.Debian: Add note on AppArmor.
+ debian/ntpdate.if-up: Fix interaction with openntpd. Stop ntp before
running ntpdate when an interface comes up, then start again afterwards.
+ debian/ntp.init, debian/rules: Only stop when entering single user mode,
don't use /var/lib/ntp/ntp.conf.dhcp if /etc/ntp.conf is newer - it can
get stale. Patch by Simon Déziel.
+ debian/ntp.conf, debian/ntpdate.default: Change default server to
  ntp.ubuntu.com.
+ debian/control: Add bison to Build-Depends (for ntpd/ntp_parser.y).
  * Includes fix for requests with source ports < 123, fixed upstream in
4.2.8p1 (LP: #1479652).
  * Add PPS support (LP: #1512980):
+ debian/README.Debian: Add a PPS section to the README.Debian,
  removed all PPSkit one.
+ debian/ntp.conf: Add some configuration examples from the offical
  documentation.
+ debian/control: Add Build-Depends on pps-tools
  * Drop Changes:
+ debian/rules: Update config.{guess,sub} for AArch64, because upstream use
  dh_autoreconf now.
+ debian/{control,rules}: Add and enable hardened build for PIE.
Upstream use fPIC. Options -fPIC and -fPIE are uncompatible, thus this is
never applied, (cf. dpkg-buildflags manual), checked with Marc
Deslauriers on freenode #ubuntu-hardened, 2016-01-20~13:11 UTC.
+ debian/rules: Remove update-rcd-params in dh_installinit command. When
setting up ntp package, the following message is presented to the user
  due to deprecated use:
"update-rc.d: warning: start and stop actions are no longer
supported; falling back to defaults". The defaults are taken from the
init.d script LSB comment header, which contain what we need anyway.
+ debian/rules: Remove ntp/ntp_parser.{c,h} or they don't get properly
regenerated for some reason. Seems to have been due to ntpd/ntp_parser.y
patches from CVE-2015-5194 and CVE-2015-5196, already upstreamed.
+ debian/ntpdate.if-up: Drop lockfile mechanism as upstream is using flock
  now.
+ Remove natty timeframe old deltas (transitional code not needed since
Trusty): Those patches were for an incorrect behaviour of
  system-tools-backend, around natty time
  (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ntp/+bug/83604/comments/23)
  - debian/ntpdate-debian: Disregard empty ntp.conf files.
  - debian/ntp.preinst: Remove empty /etc/ntp.conf on fresh intallation.
+ debian/ntp.dhcp: Rewrite sed rules. This was done incorrectly as pointed
out in LP 575458. This decision is explained in detail there.
  * All previous ubuntu security patches/fixes have been upstreamed:

[Bug 1235681] Re: squid3 always run with -N option, incompatible with SMP option (workers)

2016-02-16 Thread Amos Jeffries
For the record this usage of -N is an intentional addition for Upstart
integration with Squid-3. It is needed to avoid those much worse process
control start/stop issues mentioned in the report, and other less
obvious problems around the system.

The Ubuntu package dropping its Upstart integration patch as a whole
will remove this issue. At cost of dropping back to SysVinit for process
management.

Squid-3.5 versions currently in Debian upstream contains different
integration for dual compatibility with SysVinit and systemd which
offers better behaviour (and those "service" commands), but this does
not affect the Upstart support.

Squid-4 versions (not yet packaged) will be coming with some changes
that should make the -N option no longer needed for Upstart. That will
need to be verified when the time comes, if Upstart intgration is still
in the Ubuntu package at that point.

[Bug 1544647] Re: postinst syntax error, if condition without "then", and directory path error (Ceph 9.2.0 only)

2016-02-16 Thread guessi
Hi,

the first issue, syntax error was fixed, thanks!

but the path error still there, when it is trying to setup "ceph-mds",
it says,

---
Setting up ceph-mds (9.2.0-0ubuntu5) ...
chown: cannot access ‘/var/lib/ceph/mds’: No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing package ceph-mds (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Processing triggers for ureadahead (0.100.0-19) ...
Errors were encountered while processing:
 ceph-mds
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
---

as you said, bootstrap-mds have done by "ceph.postinst",
there is a for loop out for finding sub-folder path, so it won't hit the path
problem,
but "ceph-mds.postinst" not, it still trying to "chown" on a non-exist folder,
seems like we could to remove section of "bootstrap-mds"?

or wrap it in `if [ -d /var/lib/ceph/ceph ]; then ...`

[Bug 1509147] Re: [SRU] MAAS 1.9.0

2016-02-16 Thread Andres Rodriguez
** Description changed:

We would like to request a SRU for MAAS 1.9. This follow the approval by
the Ubuntu Technical Board for backporting new MAAS upstream releases.

  [Impact]
This is a new version of MAAS that provides new features as well as various
bug fixes against various issues. It increases MAAS' reliability and
serviceability and greatly improves MAAS as a whole.

  [Regression Potential]
Minimal. MAAS has been thoroughly tested stand alone and upgrading from 1.7
and 1.8. It has been QA'd in a CI lab as well as other production deployments:

  Tests done:

  1. Upgraded a production lab from 1.7.6 to 1.9.0 (and 1.9.0 later on).
MAAS 1.9 has proven to be more robust, and higher deployment rates
without failures than 1.9.0. This lab is a high load lab that stress
  tests deployments with MAAS.

  2. Every MAAS release is thoroughly tested for upgrades. For 1.9, upgrade
tests include:
   - Upgrading from 1.5 to 1.9 directly
   - Upgrading from 1.5 to 1.7 to 1.8 to 1.9
   - Upgrading from 1.7 to 1.9

  3. MAAS CI Lab:
   - Tests Installation (from pkgs), configuration / customization of MAAS,
enlistment, commissioning. It also tests deployments with Juju.
   - Tests various API's
   - Tests are performed against Trusty.

  4. Other manual testing include:
   - Installation (both fresh and upgrades)
   - Configuration
   - Taking nodes through the lifecycle for regression testing.
   - Custom configuration to ensure proper operation.
   - Tests API's for regressions, and keeping backwards compatibility.
-
- 5. Landscape has thoroughly tested 1.9 before moving away from 1.7, not
- only to ensure backwards compatibility but also to test new features and
- capabilities.

  Important announcements
  ---

**New Networking Concepts and API's: Fabrics, Spaces and Subnets**
With the introduction of new MAAS networking concepts, new API's are also
been introduced. These are:

    * fabrics
    * spaces
    * subnets
    * vlans
    * fan-networks

MAAS 1.9.0 will continue to provide backwards compatibility with the
old network API for reading purposes, but moving forward, users are
required to use the new API to manipulate fabrics, spaces and subnets.

**Advanced Network and Storage Configuration only available for Ubuntu
deployments**
Users can now perform advanced network and storage configurations for nodes
before deployment. The advanced configuration is only available for Ubuntu
deployments. All other deployments using third party OS', including CentOS,
RHEL, Windows and Custom Images, won't result in such configuration.

  **Re-commissioning required for upgraded MAAS**
Now that storage partitioning and advanced configuration is supported
natively, VM nodes in MAAS need to be re-commissioned.

    * If upgrading from MAAS 1.8, only VM nodes with VirtIO storage
  devices need to be re-commissioned.

    * If upgrading from MAAS 1.7, all nodes will need to be re-
commissioned in order for MAAS to correctly capture the storage and
  networking devices.

This does not affect nodes that are currently deployed.

**Default Storage Partitioning Layout - Flat**
With the introduction of custom storage, MAAS has also introduced the
concept of partitioning layouts. Partitioning layouts allow the user to quickly
auto-configure the disk partitioning scheme after first commissioning or
re-commissioning (if selected to do so). The partitioning layouts are set
globally on the `Settings` page.

The current default Partitioning layout is 'Flat', maintaining
backwards compatibility with previous MAAS releases. This means MAAS
will take the first disk it finds in the system and use it as the root
  and boot disk.

  **Deployment with configured /etc/network/interfaces**
Starting with MAAS 1.9, all node deployments will result in writing
`/etc/network/interfaces` statically, by default. This increases MAAS'
robustness and reliability as users no longer have to depend on DHCP for  IP
address allocation solely.

MAAS will continue to provide IP addresses via DHCP, even though
interfaces in `/etc/network/interfaces` may have been configured
  statically.

  Major new features
  --

  **Storage Partitioning and Advanced Configuration**
MAAS now supports Storage Partitioning and Advanced Configuration natively.
This allows MAAS to deploy machines with different Storage Layouts, as
well as different complex partitioning configurations. Storage support
   includes:

   * LVM
   * Bcache
   * Software RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10.
   * Advanced partitioning

Storace configuration is available both via the WebUI and API. For more
   information refer to :ref:`storage`.

**Advanced Networking (Fabrics, Spaces, Subnetworks) and Node Network
Configuration**
   MAAS now supports Advanced Network

[Bug 1465691] Re: init script doesn't handle hanging tomcat processes

2016-02-16 Thread Henrik Alstad
This is indeed an issue.
Usually it's not a problem, since the default script does a SIGKILL, but when I
removed that from the program, the init-script failed to fail, when the process
didnt shutdown through the normal SIGTERM. This caused me quite a bit of
debugging.

[Bug 1546214] [NEW] Docker containers lose their cgroup after systemd reload

2016-02-16 Thread PierreF
Public bug reported:

After a Systemd reload & any service restart, docker top no longer show process
of containers:

To reproduce this issue, do the following step:

# docker run -d --name test busybox sleep 1d
# docker top test
UID PID PPIDC
STIME TTY TIMECMD
root26416 10721
18:05 ? 00:00:00sleep 1d
# systemctl --system daemon-reload && systemctl restart atd.service
# docker top test
UID PID PPIDC
STIME TTY TIMECMD
[ no process listed... but sleep is still running]

Note: this idea of restarting any service restart come from patch
https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/systemd-
devel/2014-September/023276.html (which is applied to Systemd package in
Ubuntu)

After few searching, this seems to be due to process from the container being
moved in other cgroup by Systemd. More details on
https://github.com/docker/docker/issues/20152

Depending on version of Systemd (Wily or Xenial), this issue:

* Wily: Happend with Docker 1.10 (with default option)
* Wily: Does NOT happend with Docker 1.10 and --exec-opt
native.cgroupdriver=systemd
* Wily: Does NOT happend with Docker 1.9
* Xenial: Does always happend (Docker 1.9, 1.10 with or without
native.cgroupdriver=systemd)

I don't know if this issue is a Systemd issue, a Docker issue... or in middle.

[Bug 1544612] Re: Missing fix for 1299975 claimed to be in pm-utils (1.4.1-13ubuntu0.1)

2016-02-16 Thread Martin Pitt
> Hence my original proposed test for the file's existence.

This isn't very robust, as it blows up if the glob expands to more than
one file. That also Should Not Happen™, but I prefer to just quiesce the
error. I fixed that in http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/collab-maint/pm-
utils.git/commit/?id=aa33266.

I'll reupload the SRU with that too, thanks for pointing out!

This is by design as kernel-libipsec requires ESPinUDP.

As Tobias (Strongswan upstream) said, it's best to not have this on by
default.

I don't get those but I only tested libipsec in a container where there
is no Apparmor. Maybe it's libipsec specific?

Can you add this to the profile and see if it helps:

[Bug 1546139] [NEW] golang-go fails to install compiler

2016-02-16 Thread Ingvar
Public bug reported:

When trying to build Go code with "Version:
2:1.6~rc2-0ubuntu1~ubuntu14.04.1~ppa1", I get a most curious failure.

ingvar@roke:/etc/apt/sources.list.d$ uname -a
Linux roke 3.16.0-60-generic #80~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jan 20 13:37:48 UTC
2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
ingvar@roke:/etc/apt/sources.list.d$ go build metricsdemo
go tool: no such tool "compile"

This was after a recent (as in 10 minutes earlier) upgrade, as I was
trying to get godoc installed (I previously had golang-gfo installed
from ppa:evarlast-golang1.5, but trying to install golang-go.tools I got
a conflict (seems to already have been reported). As I require at least
go 1.5 for some packages I need, I thought I'd try this but this package
actually seems to not allow me to compile at all.

[Bug 1098314] Re: pg_num inappropriately low on new pools

2016-02-16 Thread Dr. Jens Rosenboom
You can set "osd pool default pg num" and "osd pool default pgp num" to
some higher value in your ceph.conf before creating pools if you want
some higher values than the default and do not want to specify it on the
command line every time.

For more complex setups however, you want to match the pg count specific
to your pool requirements anyway, so the usefulness of this approach is
limited. Rather use a tool like

http://ceph.com/pgcalc/

to tune your cluster to your requirements.

Finally, you can increase the pg count for existing pools without having
to remove them, but you cannot decrease it again afterwards, so starting
up with a small default certainly is better than having a default too
large for a single OSD test setup.

It sounds like it could be confusing. I'd prefer not to have a one-off for
just this
package but if it's disruptive then it's likely warranted.

No. Are you running 1ubuntu6 and have you reloaded the apparmor profile

[Bug 1505224] Re: Ceph OSDs not started after reboot

2016-02-16 Thread Dr. Jens Rosenboom
Sorry for the delay, I must admin that I'm not sure about that anymore.
I tried reproducing this issue with a current installation of Wily, but
failed. So I guess we can assume this to be invalid now.

[Bug 1318721] Re: RPC timeout in all neutron agents

2016-02-16 Thread Corey Bryant
Hui, I think you're seeing that error because you don't have the
proposed universe pocket enabled.

Brian, I'm fairly certain this is a race in the test, where we restart
the neutron-server and immediately test if it's running. [1] Can we try
rerunning the test for now and I'll fixup the tests in the package for
the next time we upload a fix?

[1] snippet of code from test, could use a sleep after line 11

  11 service neutron-server restart > /dev/null 2>&1
  12 if pidof -x neutron-server > /dev/null; then
  13 apt-get -y remove --purge neutron-plugin-brocade

[Bug 1350435] Re: tcg.c:1693: tcg fatal error

2016-02-16 Thread Colin Watson
We're now building armhf/arm64 packages on real arm64 hardware in
Launchpad, so, while this problem may well still exist in qemu, it no
longer applies to Launchpad builds.

[Bug 1318721] Re: RPC timeout in all neutron agents

2016-02-16 Thread Xiang Hui
Hello all,

After reproducing the test on my environment, the error is reported as:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 neutron-plugin-hyperv : Depends: neutron-common (= 1:2014.1.5-0ubuntu1) but
1:2014.1.5-0ubuntu2 is to be installed
adt-run: & apt0t-hyperv-plugin: - - - - - - - - - - stderr - - - - - - - - - -
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

It seems unrelated with the neutron fix in the patch but other
dependency problem.

[Bug 1522422] Re: Update to php 7.0

2016-02-16 Thread Ondřej Surý
> The php-fpm package currently refers to php5.6:

Fixed in src:php-defaults_27

JFTR php7.0-dev_7.0.3-4 also fixes building with new libtool (>=
2.4.6-0.1~) and as Xenial already have this libtool you need to merge
the update.

There is nothing to configure, as long as it gets loaded before any of
the other kernel-ipsec implementations (that's the default) it gets used
as IPsec backend (i.e. IPsec is then handled in userland, not the
kernel). As described on the wiki page, it is not generally recommended
to be used.

Refer to the wiki page above. One example are host-to-host tunnels,
which require additional configuration, then there are the performance
limitations.

That would be an option, another is to put the plugin and config snippet
into a separate package.

Regards,
Tobias
