[Bug 1528583] Re: [FFe] Please update to MySQL 5.7 series

2016-03-25 Thread Mario Limonciello
We discovered a problem with mythtv compiling against mysql 5.7.

It boils down to mysql expects that if you #include that
you have the mysql installation's include path included at compile time
to get the rest of the headers. This is presumptuous as it worked fine
for 5.5 and 5.6 previously without it.

I've filed an issue upstream MythTV here:
https://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/12696

For now to at least let mythtv compile against 5.7 in Ubuntu xenial I've
written a small patch:
https://github.com/MythTV/packaging/commit/8112bd623cffc90a6ef9e15be6192fecb3c01d40

That will be in the next upload.

I'm sure mythtv isn't the only project that is going to fail compiling
against mysql in this way (checking a #include header is common in
configure scripts), so it would really be best to work with upstream to
sort this out.

Thanks!

[Bug 1561975] Re: default configuration warnings - minor

2016-03-25 Thread Alex
Hit this too in Xenial. However, the error

"smtputf8_enable is true, but EAI support is not compiled in"

is not really minor. Postfix 3.0 introduced this as one of the important
new features, which the Xenial package (right now) doesn't provide.

[Bug 1560939] Re: libvirt-bin fails to install on a fresh xenial server

2016-03-25 Thread Ryan Harper
This error was unrelated to libvirt-bin itself, rather the locales
package from glibc in Xenial had an issue with generating locales (and
locale-archive); This was fixed in a new release (on 3/23) and
subsequent cloud builds after 3/22 which have newer glibc locales
package do not experience this issue.

If you still feel there is an issue after updating the locales package,
please re-open this bug.

[Bug 1561975] [NEW] default configuration warnings - minor

2016-03-25 Thread Robert Gierzinger
Public bug reported:

default configuration should match the v 2.11 -> 3.0 change:

With the default installation of Postfix 3.0.4 there are 2 warnings:
1)
Mar 25 12:45:50 mail postfix/master[4674]: /etc/postfix/master.cf: line 14:
using backwards-compatible default setting chroot=y

2) With all modules:
Mar 25 09:15:16 mail postfix[31185]: warning: smtputf8_enable is true, but EAI
support is not compiled in
[additional log entries for all loaded modules]

For the sake of sanity, I suggest the following:
1) in master.cf make the default config with "y" or "n" in the column "chroot"
of the default modules
2) either compile smtputf8 into postfix or consider "compatibility_level = 2"
and "smtputf8_enable = no"

[Bug 1543324] [NEW] [needs-packaging] php-pear

2016-03-25 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Upstream (Debian), the php-pear package is no longer built from
src:php5, but now from its own src:php-pear package.

URL: http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-php/php-pear.git (debian/sid branch)
License: PHP (I believe)
Notes: Currently, src:php5 provides php-pear 5.6.16+dfsg-1{,ubuntu1}.
This is a request to provide 1:1.10.1+submodules+notgz-3. I am unsure if this
will break versioned dependencies that might already exist against php-pear.

This is in anticipation of migrationg PHP7.0 to main, which requires the
updated version of php-pear to support PHP7.0.
