So this isn't (necessarily) about the netboot installer (or any installer) environment, but that in all *installed* environments (presumably server/cloud only), ethtool is available. And then there is a secondary request for adding it to the installer environment itself. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to ethtool in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1690228 Title: Make ethtool installed by default in Ubuntu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-power-systems/+bug/1690228/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1646739 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1646739 Thank you for filing this bug in Ubuntu. samba 2:4.1.6+dfsg-1ubuntu2.14.04.12 is very old. Current version in Ubuntu trusty is 2:4.3.11+dfsg-0ubuntu0.14.04.8. Could you please upgrade to that version and see if the problem persists? An upgrade is recommended anyway because it fixes security issues in that package. ** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1551802 Title: package samba-common 2:4.1.6+dfsg-1ubuntu2.14.04.12 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 128 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1551802/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1693418] Re: package samba 2:4.5.8+dfsg-0ubuntu0.17.04.2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
If you want to use winbindd, you also have to mask winbind.service. In the AD DC scenario, the "samba-ad-dc.service" service manages all that and starts winbindd on its own. This is what the process tree looks like in an AD DC scenario with winbindd: http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/24715447/ -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1693418 Title: package samba 2:4.5.8+dfsg-0ubuntu0.17.04.2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1693418/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1534944] Re: package samba 2:4.1.17+dfsg-4ubuntu3.1 failed to install/upgrade: подпроцесс установлен сценарий post-installation возвратил код ошибки 1
Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. We apologise for the lack of updates, but Ubuntu 15.10 Wily Werewolf reached EOL on July 28, 2016. See this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases That being said, I believe your problem is not samba related. Your log shows a lot of these messages: insserv: Starting smfpd depends on ondemand and therefore on system facility `$all' which can not be true! Whatever package is providing "smfpd" could be the culprit here. "dpkg -S /etc/init.d/smfpd" would tell you which package provides it, and then "apt-get policy " would tell you where it comes from. ** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1534944 Title: package samba 2:4.1.17+dfsg-4ubuntu3.1 failed to install/upgrade: подпроцесс установлен сценарий post-installation возвратил код ошибки 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1534944/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
