[Bug 1257435] Re: Chef does not run with all install types

2014-08-04 Thread BK Box
Sorry I missed the update to this issue.

In these listed cases, it would be 2C that does not run chef-client. By
default, the omnibus installer is simply there to install and setup
chef, not to execute it. It's still up to the user to do an initial
execution once everything has been configured properly.

An execution of the binary like 2A would be sufficient.

[Bug 1257435] [NEW] Chef does not run with all install types

2013-12-03 Thread BK Box
Public bug reported:

When using #cloud-config and a chef directive, the initial `chef-client`
run only happens when install_type is set to gems.

Expected behavior: No matter the install_type, an initial `chef-client`
run will execute.

[Bug 699967] Re: Empty list of plugins/services with hostname containing uppercase letters

2011-02-08 Thread BK Box
SRU: minimal patch for Maverick has been submitted in bzr

Nominating for SRU, fulfills: (1) have an obviously safe patch and (2)
affect an application rather than critical infrastructure packages

The fix is from upstream and has been verified in Natty.

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: munin

I've upgraded my munin-node instance on my OpenVZ hardware node to
1.4.5-1 from Debian testing, but this caused the list of services to be
empty (via telnet localhost 4949, then list).

Downgrading to 1.4.4-1~blueyedppa2 (basically a backport of 1.4.4-1 from
  Debian).

There are plugins installed (quite a lot), and I can run them manually
  using munin-run.
+
+ TEST CASE:
+
+ Install a new machine with uppercase letters in the hostname
(Maverick.example.com) and install munin-node then run the following commands:
+ # telnet localhost 4949
+ nodes
+ list Maverick.example.com
+
+ or run
+
+ # su - munin --shell=/bin/bash -c munin-cron

Was this only pushed to Natty? This issue is also present in Maverick,
can we get it pushed out there as well?

[Bug 707099] [NEW] Hostname case mismatch

2011-01-24 Thread BK Box
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: munin

apport bug attached.

When using the hostname for munin-node, a mismatch will occur when
trying to find plugins to match. This happens when the hostname
contains uppercase characters. The code does a lc() on the initial
hostname, but not on the available nodes.

This has been fixed by the munin team:
