[Bug 1336742] Re: Caching responses with Vary header

2015-08-13 Thread Diogo Matsubara
I verified the fix with Oleg's test case (comment #16). I first
reproduced the issue in a pristine trusty environment with squid3
(3.3.8-1ubuntu6.2) and then installed the proposed package
(3.3.8-1ubuntu6.3) and got a TCP_MEM_HIT/200 just like Oleg's example.

[Bug 1412545] Re: proxy isn't used after a dropped connection

2015-01-28 Thread Diogo Matsubara
Added a new task for python-virtualenv on trusty as this bug affects the
embedded urllib shipped with it. It s a bit complicated to fix that part
of the bug report and it's being tracked on:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-virtualenv/+bug/1415028

As a workaround for virtualenv one can go with Barry's suggestion:
barry rbasak: i think that's reasonable. probably as a workaround, you can
create the virtualenv, and then `pip install --upgrade urllib3`

2. Add cloud tools archive: $ sudo add-apt-repository cloud-archive:tools
3. $ sudo apt-get update
4. Dist upgrade with -y so any prompts should be assumed as yes: $ sudo apt-get

What should happen:

MAAS should be updated from 1.2+bzr1373+dfsg-0ubuntu1~12.04.5 to
1.4+bzr1693+dfsg-0ubuntu2.3~ctools0

What happens:

You get an apt prompt due to changes to /etc/maas/maas_local_settings.py

Setting up maas-region-controller (1.4+bzr1693+dfsg-0ubuntu2.3~ctools0) ...
Installing new version of config file /etc/maas/maas-http.conf ...

The default action is to keep your current version.

[Bug 1328659] Re: import_boot_images task fails on utopic

2014-06-11 Thread Diogo Matsubara
I ran the tests again[1] with an updated packaging branch[2] which adds the
syslinux-dev package as dependency but got another failure, this time a missing
/usr/lib/syslinux/chain.c32 file.
Looks like the path for that file changed on utopic's syslinux-common:

ubuntu@utopic:~$ dpkg -L syslinux-common|grep chain
/usr/lib/syslinux/modules/bios/chain.c32
/usr/lib/syslinux/modules/efi64/chain.c32
/usr/lib/syslinux/modules/efi32/chain.c32
/usr/share/doc/syslinux-common/txt/chain.txt.gz

So I think there are two bugs here, one is the missing dependency, so
import_boot_images can find the pxelinux.0 file. Another one is the
hardcoded /usr/lib/syslinux path in provisioningserver/boot/pxe.py which
ends up pointing to the wrong place on utopic.

How did you uninstall?
I tried on a pristine utopic VM (1.5.2+bzr2282-0ubuntu1) and with apt-get
remove --purge, the file was successfully removed but with apt-get remove only
the file was preserved as expected.

[Bug 1289489] Re: Installing MAAS from cloud-tools-next on precise fails

Hi Ryan, I tried this in a pristine precise VM with the current version of maas
in cloud-tools-next (1.5+bzr2252-0ubuntu1~ctools0) and didn't get any errors
during install. I didn't get errors when I ran the upgrade test from
cloud-tools to cloud-tools-next either so I'm closing this as invalid. Please
re-open if you are able to reproduce.
Thanks!

[Bug 1309761] Re: MAAS installing older 14.04 image instead of newer one

2014-04-22 Thread Diogo Matsubara

Hi Jeff, thanks for the detailed bug report, I'm duping this against bug
1311151 since this seems to be the main issue and how you workarounded
the problem. Given the other symptoms you describe this is possibly a
dupe of bug 1309593 and bug 1302158, so I'd suggest to follow up
directly on those bugs.

[Bug 1297942] [NEW] MAAS overwrites DEFAULT_MAAS_URL on upgrade

2014-03-26 Thread Diogo Matsubara
Public bug reported:

I did an upgrade from MAAS precise
1.4+bzr1701+dfsg-0+1718+212~ppa0~ubuntu12.04.1 to trusty
1.5+bzr1977-0ubuntu5 and the DEFAULT_MAAS_URL in
maas_local_settings.py was overwritten to the IP address of the first
network interface in the VM used to test the upgrade.

LP suggested this could be bug 984309 but that was long fixed so I'm
filing a new one.

@mahmoh I had a similar issue in the QA lab, where just one of the nodes
exhibited the symptom described here (hostname set to connection
timeout). It turned out I had another DHCP server (different from the
cluster controller configured one) running on that subnet and causing
this odd behavior.

[Bug 1167660] [NEW] maas-cluster-controller.postinst failing with an unterminated sed error

2013-04-10 Thread Diogo Matsubara
Public bug reported:

maas-cluster-controller package is failing to install with the following
error:

Setting up maas-cluster-controller (0.2+1.2+bzr1373+dfsg-0+1373+168~ppa0~quantal

sed: -e expression #1, char 23: unterminated `s' command
dpkg: error processing maas-cluster-controller (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Processing triggers for libc-bin ...

I added set -x to the /var/lib/dpkg/info/maas-cluster-controller.postint
script and re-run the command. Below is the output.

Notice there are two bugs here:

+ RET= http://192.168.21.5/MAAS which contains an leading whitespace

and the bug that's causing the error on line 86 of maas-cluster-
controller.postinst:

sed -i s|MAAS_URL=.*|MAAS_URL=$RET|
/etc/maas/maas_cluster.conf

which works when it's like: sed -i s|MAAS_URL=.*|MAAS_URL='$RET'|
/etc/maas/maas_cluster.conf

[Bug 1064638] Re: Commissioning is failing to set node memory attribute

2012-10-23 Thread Diogo Matsubara
** Tags removed: verification-needed
** Tags added: verification-done

** Description changed:

  Tested with 0.1+bzr1239+dfsg-0+1240+125~ppa0~quantal1

After commissioning the lenovo machines in the QA lab, the memory
attribute is set to 0 MB

The fallout from this is that juju bootstrap won't be able to find a
  matching node when you run:

  == TEST CASE ==
  1. $ juju bootstrap --constraints arch=amd64
2012-10-09 16:57:51,558 INFO Bootstrapping environment 'maas' (origin:
lp:juju type: maas)...
2012-10-09 16:57:52,724 ERROR No matching node is available.

  2. $ juju bootstrap --constraints arch=amd64 mem=0
2012-10-09 16:59:53,958 INFO Bootstrapping environment 'maas' (origin:
lp:juju type: maas)...
2012-10-09 16:59:57,067 INFO 'bootstrap' command finished successfully

To test if fixed, 1 should succeed.
+
+ Tested in the lenovo lab. Both 1 and juju bootstrap (i.e. without any
+ constraints) now work fine.

[Bug 1066929] Re: duplicate entry added to named.conf.local on each package reconfigure

2012-10-23 Thread Diogo Matsubara
** Tags removed: verification-needed
** Tags added: verification-done

** Description changed:

Running dpkg-reconfigure maas-dns breaks the current dns config

Observation seems to indicate that each reconfigure appends the
  following line to /etc/bind/named.conf.local

  include /etc/bind/maas/named.conf.maas;

This causes bind to choke and output confusing messages about multiple
  definitions of the master zone

   PATH=(custom, no user)
   LANG=en_US.UTF-8
   SHELL=/bin/bash
  SourcePackage: maas
UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install)

  == TEST CASE ==
  1. Install MAAS with DNS server.
  2. dpkg-reconfigure maas-dns
  3. make sure line is not duplicationed in /etc/bind/maas/named.conf.maas
+
+ Tested in the lenovo lab. Runnning dpkg-reconfigure maas-dns does not

[Bug 1066958] Re: DNS config is invalid after a node gets enlisted.

2012-10-23 Thread Diogo Matsubara
** Tags removed: verification-needed
** Tags added: verification-done

** Description changed:

After a node gets enlisted, its hostname is set to a generated address
based on its IP address (e.g. 192-168-10-10). When the DNS config gets
written, if the hostname is not changed to a custom value, the CNAME
record conflicts with a pre-populated A record for that IP:

  Content of /etc/bind/maas/zone.master
  IN NS master.
  master. IN A 192.168.10.1
  [...]
  192-168-10-10 IN A 192.168.10.10
  [...]
  192-168-10-10 IN CNAME 192-168-10-10

One solution is to change DNSForwardZoneConfig.get_cname_mapping so that
the records where generated_hostname(ip) == hostname are filtered out.

  == TEST CASE ==
  1. Install MAAS and manage DHCP/DNS server.
- 2. Enlist machine
+ 2. Enlist machine
  3. Make sure DNS config is correct
+
+ Tested in the lenovo lab. No CNAME records appear in the zone.master
+ file.

[Bug 1064672] Re: Node listing page becomes unusable with increased number of nodes

2012-10-23 Thread Diogo Matsubara
** Description changed:

The nodes listing page displays all nodes enlisted in MAAS. As the
number of nodes increase, that page becomes slower and slower to render
  and build.

We should add some pagination to make this at least minimally usable for
  large scale MAAS deployment.

  == TEST CASE ==
This fix has been tested on both canonistack and in the lenovo lab.
  1. Add various nodes to MAAS
  2. See node listing pages
+
+ Tested in the lenovo lab. $ while true; do maas-cli maas nodes new
architecture=i386 mac_addresses=`printf 'DE:AD:BE:EF:%02X:%02X\n'
$((RANDOM%256)) $((RANDOM%256))`; done;
+ Hit ctrl+c after the command adds more than 50 nodes. See the the pagination.

[Bug 1068383] [NEW] package reconfiguration could ask further configuration details

2012-10-18 Thread Diogo Matsubara
Public bug reported:

Consider the following scenario:
Region controller with 3 interfaces:
eth1: 192.168.21.x
eth2: 192.168.22.x
eth3: 10.98.0.x

Cluster controller with 2 interfaces:
eth0: 192.168.20.x
eth1: 10.98.0.x

When I install the region controller, it autodetects 10.98.0.x (default
route) as the PXE server for the RC. I run dpkg-reconfigure and change
it to 192.168.21.5 which is the correct address

When I install the cluster controller, it asks for the publicly
accessible API of the MAAS server, which is http://10.98.0.90/MAAS

Once the cluster controller is installed, the amqp address sent from the
RC is 192.168.21.5, which is not accessible from the CC.

So, the RC uses DEFAULT_MAAS_URL as the amqp address and if there are
other clusters controllers connected to this MAAS server, they end up
with the wrong address.

Julian suggested that on dpkg-reconfigure more questions could be asked
like the address of the RC pxe server and the webui/api/amqp address.

[Bug 1059973] [NEW] purging packages can't remove files because dirs are not empty

2012-10-01 Thread Diogo Matsubara
Public bug reported:

I got this error when I ran sudo apt-get remove --purge maas

∘ dpkg: warning: while removing maas-region-controller, directory
'/usr/share/maas/maas' not empty so not removed
∘ dpkg: warning: while removing maas-region-controller, directory '/etc/maas'
not empty so not removed

Shouldn't --purge just remove everything?

 Importance: Undecided

[Bug 1055935] Re: dhcpd.conf is not updated after package install

2012-09-26 Thread Diogo Matsubara
I tried this package 0.1+bzr1063+dfsg-0+1080+96~ppa0~quantal1 in the QA
lab and still no maas dhcp server. If I try to start the service
manually after install: sudo service maas-dhcp-server start, it doesn't
start.

/var/lib/maas/ doesn't have a dhcp dir and no dhcp related config.

and I get the traceback in the celery.log:

[Bug 1050027] [NEW] apt-get remove --yes doesn't automatically deconfigure and purge the database

Run sudo apt-get remove --purge --yes maas

You're asked if the database should be deconfigured and purged instead
of assuming yes for all.

[Bug 1050185] [NEW] dhcpd.conf is not updated after dpkg-reconfigure maas

2012-09-12 Thread Diogo Matsubara
Public bug reported:

Run sudo dpkg-reconfigure maas and change the IP for the
PXE/provisioning network

After the reconfiguration, /etc/dhcp/dhcpd.conf next_server entry is not
updated with the value set.

Julian suggest that on dpkg-reconfigure maas, reconfigure should also be
done on maas-dhcp so the dhcpd.conf file is updated.
