[Bug 618775] Re: package openssh-server (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-installation script killed by signal (Aborted)
Confirm that this workstation appears to have file-system problems. We wont submit further reports from the bug-reporting tool until after fsck, reinstall, and/or hardware replacement. I'm going to look at [617612] which likely had same cause. Anyhow, for a bit of technical detail, openssh-server showed as already successfully installed, but we got read errors trying to install another: $ sudo aptitude install kdelibs5 [...] Unpacking kdelibs5 (from .../kdelibs5_4%3a4.4.2-0ubuntu4_i386.deb) ... lzma: Decoder error dpkg-deb: subprocess decompress returned error exit status 1 dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/kdelibs5_4% 3a4.4.2-0ubuntu4_i386.deb (--unpack): short read in buffer_copy (backend dpkg-deb during `./usr/lib/libkio.so.5.4.0') No apport report written because the error message indicates a dpkg I/O error Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/kdelibs5_4%3a4.4.2-0ubuntu4_i386.deb E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) [...] -- package openssh-server (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-installation script killed by signal (Aborted) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/618775 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
