Hi Robie, thanks for you answer, I've asked to the sysadmin to make a test and let me know if X server works fine and he told me that he hasn't verified any kind of issue, so I think that is something wrong with my Ubuntu installation. I've made also a test with a virtual installation(Oracle VirtualBox) of Ubuntu 15.04 and I have the same issue. If this bug/issue will be assigned to an X server developer I'd like to collect any other info about this strange behavior. Public bug reported: Hi, I've an issue with ssh X11 forwarding while launching Java applications, it's a critical issue because I'm working with my laptop(with Ubuntu 15.10) for a customer and is impossible to dispatch all the requests. This is what I do step by step: 1- ssh -X user@customerserver 2- xclok <- it works well 3- /export/appl-data/oracle/jdk1.7.0_45/bin/java -d64 -jar weblogic.jar 4- The X Java application starts but the fonts are "invisible" s you can see in the screenshot in attach. I wrote and tested a patch that fixes the bug. Reading the source code i
found that this:

I tested also on fedora, the problem is related to samba main distribution. Another detail I noticed is that if i log in from tty i get the message erroneous conversation (5) after the message of expired password. [Bug 932021] [NEW] service mysql start hangs forever without any messages if the configuration is broken
Public bug reported: I had a typo in the configuration file, and when doing service mysql restart, the command hanged forever, without any messages at all. I guess is related to be moved to upstart and the respawn option, in combination with no printing any error messages at all. To debug the problem I had to run mysqld manually to get the errors in the console, I didn't even saw any errors in /var/log/mysql.err. Just now I realized there is another log file in /var/log/mysql/error.log, and I can see the errors there, but that's a little confusing. Anyway, I think the init script shouldn't try to restart the program if it failed too soon, and probably should print startup errors in the console. A simple solution might be to just remove the respawn option for now. As I suspected, the incorrect disk driver for kvm was the issue. Hello Canonical guys, I have this problem specially for new and fast machines. Boot is just too fast. If autofs uses network shares (nis, nis+, ldap), it only can start autofs after the network is up (upstart bug?). Another solution is to start immediatelly (for static entries) and, after network is up, reload the configuration. If the reload script does not hurt other cases, please add it to autofs5-ldap package. This bug hurts enterprise clients. Other distribution just works with autofs/ldap. Ubuntu should even have a gui in order to easily configure autofs/ldap. I also noticed a very similar problem with samba. As it got up before network, it does not find the DC and it avoids to auth users until it is restarted. Public bug reported: On my Ubuntu Hardy mysql doesn't works correctly with users that are not root. In first instance, an user with password is not recognized, access is denied with correct password. Of course this is not the case of users without password.
