Thanks for reporting this. I have been able to reproduce the problem.
Can you specify more the process you followed? Did you have some
previous install of packages, or some previous removals?

[Bug 1188887] Re: package php5-mysql 5.4.15-1ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2

2013-06-10 Thread mtbdrew
Hello,

Did not have the package on system previously. It was installed on
adding the Mythtv plugins options. After install got error message
regarding mythmusic and a couple of the other plugins in regards to
php5-mysql. Did some web searching for these errors and one suggested
doing a forced install of php5-mysql.

On trying to do the forced installed, received first error message about
missing mysqli.ini files. Tried system search for the file and it was
nowhere on the system. Created blank version and added it to the above
directory. Then got same error message about missing mysql.ini so added
blank version of it as well. Performed forced install of php5-mysql with
no further issues seen and previous error messages for MythTV plugins
also cleared.

Was able to clear this by adding two blank files:

mysql.ini
mysqli.ini

Place this in:

/etc/php5/mods-available/
