Yes, it's working perfectly again. I'm concerned that this could be a symptom of some issue with the package. It should not be necessary to reinstall it. I tried looking in the system logs, but I can't find any mention of ssh-askpass or even ssh. After closing the session and logging in again, it works fine. I had rebooted a couple of times after the upgrade to 9.10 from 9.04, so I assume that the key factor was reinstalling ssh-askpass-gnome.
