[Bug 539467] Re: SATA link power management causes disk errors and corruption
Uninstalling the tlp package resolved this issue for me (Ubuntu 14.04). Disabling laptop_mode also seemed to help: echo 0 /proc/sys/vm/laptop_mode -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to pm-utils in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/539467 Title: SATA link power management causes disk errors and corruption To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/539467/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 539467] Re: SATA link power management causes disk errors and corruption
One Additional note, when shifting from high_performance to low_power modes of operation, no errors are encountered. It only seems to happen when going from a low to high state. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to pm-utils in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/539467 Title: SATA link power management causes disk errors and corruption To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/539467/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 539467] Re: SATA link power management causes disk errors and corruption
I am getting this in freshly upgraded Trusty Tahr. It previsely mirrors the previously reported bug in every respect and I always get the following kernel disk error when I attempt to resume after plugging back the power cord in when running on battery power: Mar 29 11:01:20 lenovo kernel: [ 51.906860] ideapad_laptop: Unknown event: 1 Mar 29 11:01:20 lenovo kernel: [ 52.029487] ata2.00: exception Emask 0x10 SAct 0x1 SErr 0x5 action 0xe frozen Mar 29 11:01:20 lenovo kernel: [ 52.029493] ata2.00: irq_stat 0x0040, PHY RDY changed Mar 29 11:01:20 lenovo kernel: [ 52.029496] ata2: SError: { PHYRdyChg CommWake } Mar 29 11:01:20 lenovo kernel: [ 52.029499] ata2.00: failed command: READ FPDMA QUEUED Mar 29 11:01:20 lenovo kernel: [ 52.029505] ata2.00: cmd 60/00:00:20:88:00/01:00:0f:00:00/40 tag 0 ncq 131072 in Mar 29 11:01:20 lenovo kernel: [ 52.029505] res 50/00:03:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/a0 Emask 0x10 (ATA bus error) Mar 29 11:01:20 lenovo kernel: [ 52.029507] ata2.00: status: { DRDY } A new bug was filed but I think this bug should be re-opened and my report marked as a duplicate. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1299567 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to pm-utils in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/539467 Title: SATA link power management causes disk errors and corruption To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/539467/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
