Hello I have tested ubuntu amd64 desktop 20100824 on a qemu-kvm VM and i have reproduced the bug, gdm don't start, but in a real hardware Live session and Installation from DVD (image size too large for CD) i cannot reproduce it because it simply works as expected, Live session works and ubiquity do it's work. Then I assign the bug to qemu.
