The MIBs are no longer shipped by Debian Ubuntu because they are under a restrictive licence (see debbugs #498475). Chuck, The database is definitely not corrupt until the upgrade is processed. The database is very static, and I have done previous updates with no problem. Once I fix the database ( again it doesn't become corrupt until the upgrade ), I am able to use it as I had previously. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: tomcat6 The tomcat6 init script does not pass the --pid-file argument to start- stop-daemon when it launches tomcat. This causes start-stop-daemon to look for processes with matching names, uids and gids when trying to determine if tomcat is already running. Due to the way the tomcat6 init script is written, this means that tomcat will not start if an existing instance of /bin/bash is running with the same user and group as that which tomcat runs as. ('out of disk space')
in a natty chroot. Since there has been general natty toolchain wonkiness, I'm

You are correct, the server runs PHP scripts, but as part of the open source VLE Moodle: http://moodle.org/ Moodle is a complex application and I would have no idea what aspect of it might have caused apache to crash. I develop code for Moodle, but plugins only, I have little to do with the core code. The only thing I can think of is that I can look at Apache's other_vhosts_access.log on the server and try to work out what Moodle was doing at that time, or a few minutes before. Ubuntu uses the Debian package, as shown at the top of the attached file (personal information removed): OpenSSH_5.5p1 Debian-4ubuntu4, OpenSSL 0.9.8o 01 Jun 2010 The remote server is running Red Hat, which has /etc/ssh/ssh_config with: GSSAPIAuthentication Yes I have no access to modify the remote server's files. So, I think the problem is bigger than just Debian. I created a user ~/.ssh/config file to contain: GSSAPIAuthentication no The work-around fixes the problem, access is very fast.
