2015-07-23 Thread Adam Conrad
Hello Andy, or anyone else affected,

Accepted ubuntu-fan into vivid-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-
fan/0.3.0~15.04.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at

[Bug 1441930] Re: Fix handling of multipathed disks with 4k-sectors

2015-07-23 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
@drbrent, provided verification passes for both the affected packages
(and that, as soon as possible), there is enough time for this update to
make it into 14.04.3.

parted changes needed to be vastly adapted to apply on parted 2.3. Be
warned that you'll need to enable the proposed repository *in the
installer* for this to be testable with the installer, which means you
will need to add apt-setup/proposed=true to the command-line when
booting the installer, or add it to the preseed file you are using. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed

[Bug 1475215] [NEW] [SRU] cloudinit.cs_utils.Cepko doesn't work under Python 3

2015-07-23 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

In Python 3, Serial objects expect to be communicated with in bytes, we
still try to pass strings in.

[Impact]
Versions of Ubuntu which have Python 3 as the default Python (15.04 onwards)
won't successfully boot on CloudSigma.

[Test Case]
Try to boot a vivid (or wily) instance in CloudSigma, and observe your
inability to SSH in to it.

[Regression Potential]
None; cloud-init is completely broken on CloudSigma at the moment.

Changing the class to return a string rather than a dictionary avoids
the cloud-init explosion. That runs counter to all the documentation
that says use JSON, but it's the workaround we'll use for now
(serializing to YAML).

2015-07-23 Thread Adam Conrad
Hello Andy, or anyone else affected,

Accepted iproute2 into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/iproute2/3.12.0-2ubuntu1 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

[Bug 1469260] Re: Custom vendor data causes cloud-init failure on 0.7.5

2015-07-23 Thread Felipe Reyes
A vendor data file should be a dict with a cloud-init key and the value
for that key is expected to be a string or a list[0], the docs provide a
simple example[1]

Here is another example that will add a user called cloudy, upgrade the
system and install htop:

{cloud-init: #cloud-config\nusers:\n - name: cloudy\n ssh-import-
id: cloudy\npackage_upgrade: True\npackages:\n - htop}

So a yaml cloud-config compatible has to be passed a string.

[Bug 1477453] [NEW] lxc-stop -n unknown-container creates a corrupted container

2015-07-23 Thread Chris West
Public bug reported:

Running lxc-stop on a container which doesn't exist actually creates the
container, and messes up its permissions, causing sequences like:

$ lxc-stop -n foo  lxc-destroy -n foo  lxc-clone clean-machine foo

..to fail with bad errors:

# it definitely doesn't exist to start with:
% lxc-ls foo

% lxc-info -n foo
foo doesn't exist

% ls ~/.local/share/lxc/foo -al
ls: cannot access /home/faux/.local/share/lxc/foo: No such file or directory

# now let's stop it:
% lxc-stop -n foo
foo is not running

# tooling still thinks it doesn't exist:
% lxc-ls foo

% lxc-info -n foo
foo doesn't exist

# .. but there are some files!
% ls ~/.local/share/lxc/foo -al
total 0
drwxr-xr-x 1 faux faux 14 Jul 23 09:45 .
drwxr-xr-x 1 faux faux 8070 Jul 23 09:45 ..
-rw-rw-r-- 1 faux faux0 Jul 23 09:45 foo.log

# and now lxc-clone is totally broken:
% lxc-clone base foo
lxc_container: lxccontainer.c: lxcapi_clone: 2707 Permission denied - open
/home/faux/.local/share/lxc/foo/config

Can we worked around by manually rm -rfing ~/.local/share/lxc/foo.

[Bug 1194074] Re: Default index.html blindly overwritten

2015-07-23 Thread Thomas Ward
This isn't fixed - it's marked Fix Released in Debian only because of
Debian considering this Won't Fix.

There's a reason that we say that certain spaces on the file system
aren't for users and this is one of them - this is why I said in my last
post on this even that you should NOT be using the 'default' doc root.
