Re: [ubuntu-studio-users] ubuntu-studio INSTALLED
YES & thank-you for your kind reply Erich ! We got another(1TB)) hard-drive today and will try to install UbuntuStudio on that, thus format this present 500GB hard-drive UBUNTU installation for extra memory. Just gotta decide if we use AHCI or IDE and EUFI or LEGACY ? It is not. You will find this is true of all official flavors of Ubuntu. It is merely a different default installation and configuration, similar to Fedora's "spins". Yes, you can install Ubuntu and Ubuntu Studio alongside each other, but the GRUB boot entry will always list them both as Ubuntu because that's what they are. You will never find an "ubuntu studio" entry in the bootloader. I hope that clears up your confusion. [ubuntu-studio-users] Ubuntu19.10 defaults to UbuntuStudio19.10
Nope -choosing the UBUNTU 19.10 option on start-up just brings us to UBUNTUSTUDIO - after a buncha script has been running on a black page background ! Then that UBUNTUSTUDIO won't go to Firefox but restarting and choosing the UBUNTUSTUDIO option seems to work fine again. That's odd. Are you still able to successfully install regular Ubuntu like this? Maybe this could in fact be an Ubuntu Studio specific issue, then. In case you are able to install Ubuntu, you could just sudo apt install ubuntustudio-installer and "upgrade" your regular Ubuntu to a Studio that way. It will work the same, just look different. If you are able to install Xubuntu, the difference will be even less, just visually. sudo grub-install /dev/sda; sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg ...according to all the info you now have been sent about this , should dev/sada be 1 or 2 or what ? Nothing, just /dev/sda. However this may only work if you disable everything UEFI boot. You should try this, it would be my preferred method of installing, anyway. -- ubuntu-studio-users mailing list ubuntu-studio-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-studio-users
