Kubuntu Docs status

2009-10-23 Thread Adi Roiban
Hi,

I have generated the translated XML and HTML files for Kubuntu Docs

You can see the report here
http://l10n.ubuntu.tla.ro/kubuntu-docs-karmic/

Please note that the HTML are exactly the one that will be used by
khelpcenter and they don't have the help.kubuntu.com style.

This is just a quick and dirty report. I will come back with some nice
HTML files and I hope that by then we will have those errors fixed.

Cheers,

Re: a question about ubuntu slideshow in release candidate

2009-10-23 Thread Bernard Banko
Hi.
As said on an another post, it's the bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu/+bug/452889
It was fixed 8 hours ago, you can check if it's ok for your language.
Regards,
Bernard.

Re: 2 new strings in update-manager

Sorry for that, this was a last minute fix because upstart does not
work in a vserver environment (or the other way around, a vserver does
not support upstart) and upgrading will break the system badly. It was
the choice between that or two new strings.

The strings will be displayed very rarely, its not a common type of
setup and only available in some virtual hosting environments.

Cheers,
 Michael

Hi,

Due to the delay in ubiquity-slideshow translations, the translated
files were not included in the Release Candidate.

They should be included in a new daily build.

I think David or someone from ubuntu-desktop team will let us know when
the build is ready.

We have the same problem with ubuntu-docs.

Cheers!

a question about ubuntu slideshow in release candidate

2009-10-23 Thread malditoastur
Hi, I'm testing Ubuntu 9.10 Release candidate, and I see that the
slideshow in installer appears in English

I can confirm this for Asturian, Catalan and Spanish languages. Is this
a bug or is a problem with translations for the Release candidate?

can anyone confirm this problem in other languages?

2 new strings in update-manager

2009-10-23 Thread Daniel Nylander

There are 2 new strings in update-manager.
I thought we were in string freeze now?
Has this been approved?

"No init available"

"Your system appears to be a virtualised environment without an init
daemon, e.g. Linux-VServer. Ubuntu 9.10 cannot function within this type
of environment, requiring an update to your virtual machine
configuration first.
Are you sure you want to continue?"

I think these backslashes indicate that the line after the '\' is the
continuation of the line before the '\'. Just run checkbox-gtk and
compare what is displayed with the text in tests/*.txt.in.

Do you mean those strings affected by the string freeze exception?

If that's the case, as commented in the bug [1], the fix for this is
going to appear after the RC (but before the final release).

You can subscribe to the bug [1] to track its status, and you can also
click on its linked branch [2] to see that the last changes include an
export of translations from Launchpad.

Thanks for checking this out!

Regards,
David.
