Ok, I've just talked to Colin Watson, who's maintaining the installation
guide, and we agreed that it would be best to disable the translations
from Launchpad until there is an easier way to sync translations with
upstream.

So you'll no longer find translatable templates here:

https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/lucid/+source/installation-guide

And I've exported the translations here, for those wanting to send them
back upstream:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/Upstream/Universe (see the
installation-guide link)

There are currently no localized builds made of the installation-guide, 
so this is not a problem.
