What are the add-ons that you have listed? Were they installed via
apt-get, or through firefox itself? And are they uninstalled when you
restart Firefox?

That seems to have sorted itself... all the add-ons have gone. I
reinstalled a couple (Basics (in place of tab mix plus) and Sage Too)
and they seem to work. I can't change preferences. FF3 crashes in two
different ways on different occasions, one: it will close the program
just opening preferences; the other: it freezes as soon as I click on a
tab on the dialogue. It also freezes on some pages loading (I think
those that have flash content) and just shows a busy cursor. I have no
idea where to go next with this.

[ubuntu-uk] BBC iPlayer update: better radio support

2008-07-05 Thread Rob Stent
In the last couple of days the BBC iPlayer website has been revamped,
including the availability of most radio programmes in flash format, the
same as the TV shows.

I'm sure I'm not alone in having had various problems in getting the
BBC's Real Audio and Windows Media radio programmes to play in Ubuntu,
so I thought it might be useful to draw attention to this development.

Currently listening to Colin Murray in said format
