[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 738600] [NEW] flash 10.2 plugin crashes when leaving full-screen with nvidia 270.30
Public bug reported: In Firefox, navigate to any flash video (eg on YouTube) and play it full screen. Press ESC to exit full-screen, and it crashes - the Firefox tab turns blank (black in FF 4, light grey in FF 3.6.15). Refreshing the page will restart flash, but of course any flash videos that start in full-screen mode can only be viewed in full-screen mode. This only happens with the 270.30 beta nvidia driver - flash works fine with the 260.19.44 stable driver. The same is true in Maverick (it works with the stable driver but not the beta driver). The current flashplugin-installer version is 10.2.152.27ubuntu1. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 518938] Re: black screen on Intel HM55 - during boot and Xorg
This bug report is being closed since the original reporter no longer has this issue. As stated a few times on this report, and many others (and in the bug reporting guidelines); even if you have the same hardware, file another bug report. It's better to have several bug reports with slightly different problems and different machines than to mess around trying to sift through several pages of rubbish to find one thing. If Bug Control or BugSquad find that it is the same problem, it'll be marked as a duplicate and you'll be subscribed to the master bug report. Thank you. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/518938 Title: black screen on Intel HM55 - during boot and Xorg ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 738789] [NEW] Ubuntu won't finish boot after nVidia proprietary driver install
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg Followed these steps: 1. Fresh install of a daily build of Natty just updated (20/3/2011 1:30 pm GMT-3) 2. Log in on Unity with no error from Xorg (GSettings crashed and reported bug successfully). 3. Followed instructions on Installation test for nVidia Proprietary Drivers Xorg Team (http://testcases.qa.ubuntu.com/Hardware/X/ProprietaryDrivers#Installation) 4. When in the step of rebooting, loaded the kernel 2.6.38-7-generic in grub and wait. 5. Ubuntu never got into GUI, not even into the command line as it used to. The last version I tested this (and dumped in the CLI) was Maverick on kernel 2.6.35-28-generic on this machine. It happens every time I want to install the driver. Expected result: GUI or CLI login prompt Result: Hang up shell with blinking underscore responsive only to return key to new-line and ctr+alt+del to reboot. I'll attach logs from kernel, xorg and xorg.conf if apport doesn't do it. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 738790] [NEW] Screen splits when I move mouse to the top right-hand corner
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg Every 30 or so logouts, when I move my pointer to the top right corner to begin the shutdown sequence, my screen splits. No, and even no MAC address can be found in the ARP table, so I guess networking is not on yet before the freeze, or so? Now there was an update for kernel 2.6.38-7 (instead of -6) but the same problem. Btw, it's nice to mention that magic sysreq keys seems to work (at least alt- sysreq-b reboots the system) but I can't see any message (because of the video mode on the console?) so it's not so useful, I've tried to sync, unmount and reboot with the corresponding magic sysreq combos, but still, after I boot with maverick's kernel, still there is no sign of _any_ log message of the natty's kernel, or xorg logs at all what I would be able to send you. So I have no idea how this problem can be reported with more info, maybe network console can be useful, but I've only read about that, I haven't ever tried to use it yet ...
