[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 965003] Re: dell mini 10v touchpad dragging stopped working
Ok, I figured out what is going on. Many releases ago, I was trained to use just my fingernail on the bottom edge of the trackpad for left clicking while scrolling. If I do that now, drag and drop does not work. If I use my finger more fully on the button area, it works. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = Won't Fix ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) Importance: High = Low -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/965003 Title: dell mini 10v touchpad dragging stopped working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/965003/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

You have been subscribed to a public bug: Hey everybody I have an acer laptop model acer 3810t The problem I'm experiencing has been present since ubuntu 11.04 up to 12.04 beta2 the thing is that sometimes - out of nowhere (completely random. seems not related to anything) the trackpad stops responding and requires a reboot sometimes it stops responding a minute after I login and sometimes days can pass without me experiencing the problem. I have no idea what causes it. I haven't seen other similar bug reports. I believe that it is an ubuntu issue since I'm also an arch linux user. the problem didn't appear on arch. thanks! Yes, some extra configuration work is required to switch over to the ATI card on such machines beyond just installing the fglrx driver. ** Changed in: fglrx-installer (Ubuntu) Status: New = Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/955390 Title: menu bug To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/955390/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 970438] Re: Mouse pointer stops responding
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ubuntu ** Description changed: Hey everybody I have an acer laptop model acer 3810t The problem I'm experiencing has been present since ubuntu 11.04 up to 12.04 beta2 the thing is that sometimes - out of nowhere (completely random. seems not related to anything) the trackpad stops responding and requires a reboot sometimes it stops responding a minute after I login and sometimes days can pass without me experiencing the problem. I have no idea what causes it. I haven't seen other similar bug reports. I believe that it is an ubuntu issue since I'm also an arch linux user. the problem didn't appear on arch. thanks! I'll happily send further info. + --- + ApportVersion: 2.0-0ubuntu2 + Architecture: amd64 + DistUpgraded: Fresh install + DistroCodename: precise + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 + DistroVariant: ubuntu + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin - Beta amd64 (20120328) + MachineType: Acer Aspire 3810T + Package: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 1.5.99.902-0ubuntu1 + PackageArchitecture: amd64 + ProcEnviron: + TERM=xterm + LANG=en_US.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash + ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-21-generic root=UUID=2307a1b1-f278-42dd-95e9-713e04fe52f2 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-21.34-generic 3.2.13 + Tags: precise ubuntu + Uname: Linux 3.2.0-21-generic x86_64 + UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) + UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo + dmi.bios.date: 03/26/2010 + dmi.bios.vendor: Acer + dmi.bios.version: V1.27 + dmi.board.asset.tag: Base Board Asset Tag + dmi.board.name: Aspire 3810T + dmi.board.vendor: Acer + dmi.board.version: PSMBOU-1234567 + dmi.chassis.type: 10 + dmi.chassis.vendor: Acer + dmi.chassis.version: None + dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAcer:bvrV1.27:bd03/26/2010:svnAcer:pnAspire3810T:pvrV1.27:rvnAcer:rnAspire3810T:rvrPSMBOU-1234567:cvnAcer:ct10:cvrNone: + dmi.product.name: Aspire 3810T + dmi.product.version: V1.27 + dmi.sys.vendor: Acer + version.compiz: compiz 1:0.9.7.2-0ubuntu4 + version.ia32-libs: ia32-libs N/A + version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.32-1ubuntu1 + version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 8.0.2-0ubuntu3 + version.libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental N/A + version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx 8.0.2-0ubuntu3 + version.xserver-xorg-core: xserver-xorg-core 2:1.11.4-0ubuntu8 + version.xserver-xorg-input-evdev: xserver-xorg-input-evdev 1:2.7.0-0ubuntu1 + version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.14.99~git20111219.aacbd629-0ubuntu2 + version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.17.0-1ubuntu4 + version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:0.0.16+git20111201+b5534a1-1build2 ** Attachment added: BootDmesg.txt https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/970438/+attachment/2990058/+files/BootDmesg.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/970438 Title: Mouse pointer stops responding To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/970438/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 955786] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in BlockHandler() - Regression since 290.10
Roger, There is a new 295.33 driver in Ubuntu now, which is said to resolve a number of crash issues. I can't say for sure from release notes whether it resolves your crash bug, but I think it would be worth re-testing. Update to the latest software, and see whether or not the crash can be reproduced. ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/955786 Title: Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in BlockHandler() - Regression since 290.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/955786/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
