[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 965003] Re: dell mini 10v touchpad dragging stopped working

2012-04-02 Thread Rick Spencer
Ok, I figured out what is going on. Many releases ago, I was trained to
use just my fingernail on the bottom edge of the trackpad for left
clicking while scrolling. If I do that now, drag and drop does not work.
If I use my finger more fully on the button area, it works.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 949097] Re: Serial Wacom Tablet touch not initalized when logged in

2012-04-02 Thread Timo Aaltonen
Jason: settings done via xsetwacom don't persist, that's not a bug per
se, just that the gui configurator needs to support the touch
functionality.

Moustafa: please run 'xsetwacom --list devices' then 'xsetwacom --get NN
all' where NN is the id of the touch device. Sounds like it's getting
disabled by the running session, so might want to check with a test user
as well.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 968218] Re: ssh x11 forwarding precise to oneiric causes glibc malloc(): memory corruption

2012-04-02 Thread Robert Hutton
Hi Bryce,

I tried backtracing X11 using those instructions, but couldn't get X11
on either the Precise or the Oneiric side to give me a backtrace
(because it didn't actually crash).

However, I managed to backtrace some of the applications that crashed,
using the Core Files section of https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace (see
attached).

Now that I think about it, it appears the apps that are crashing are
GTK3, and the ones that aren't are GTK2...

2012-04-02 Thread Fabio Marconi
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which
is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper
developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this
bug as a bug in xorg.

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-
bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this
functionality at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 970438] [NEW] Mouse pointed stops responding

2012-04-02 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Hey everybody
I have an acer laptop model acer 3810t
The problem I'm experiencing has been present since ubuntu 11.04 up to 12.04
beta2
the thing is that sometimes - out of nowhere (completely random. seems not
related to anything) the trackpad stops responding and requires a reboot
sometimes it stops responding a minute after I login
and sometimes days can pass without me experiencing the problem.
I have no idea what causes it. I haven't seen other similar bug reports.
I believe that it is an ubuntu issue since I'm also an arch linux user. the
problem didn't appear on arch.

thanks!

I'll happily send further info.

** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu)

Ah, I see this is a hybrid graphics system. Yes, some extra
configuration work is required to switch over to the ATI card on such
machines beyond just installing the fglrx driver.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 955786] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in BlockHandler() - Regression since 290.10

2012-04-02 Thread Bryce Harrington
Roger,

There is a new 295.33 driver in Ubuntu now, which is said to resolve a
number of crash issues. I can't say for sure from release notes whether
it resolves your crash bug, but I think it would be worth re-testing.
Update to the latest software, and see whether or not the crash can be
reproduced.
