[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 982115] Re: ubuntu big cursor
I have had the same problem since 11.10. The problem occures on two seperate machines (now) running 12.04 and both of them have a screen size of 2560x1440. I would think that the above metioned iMac runs at a screen size similar. I've posted a quick fix on Ask Ubuntu on how to get around the problem, but this should really be adressed correctly. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 993506] Re: nvidia-current 295.40-0ubuntu1: nvidia-current kernel module failed to build
Thanks for the link confirming it's an nvidia bug. Maybe it's doable to port the xorg-edgers nvidia patch to quantal. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 993803] [NEW] 'alt' randomly unclicks while i hold it pressed
Public bug reported: hi. i'm using ubuntu 12.04 lts amd64 with latest updates installed. i'm using windowmanager+gdm (no unity). windowmanager uses alt+1alt+9 key combinations to switch between desktops. today i've discovered that alt 'unclicks' randomly while i press it to switch between desktops. example scenario: i press alt, hold it, press 1, windowmaker switched to 1st. i do not release alt and press 2, windowmaker switches to second desktop, which, for example, running text editor. i still do not release alt and press 3, to switch to third desktop. but instead of switching to third desktop i see that '3' appeared in running text editor. i still do not release alt and start to press different keys - they works as if i do not pressed alt (but i hold alt at this time). ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993803 Title: 'alt' randomly unclicks while i hold it pressed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/993803/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Public bug reported: I've got a DELL E6410 laptop on a dock station with 2 screens plugged on it. I use a Logitech MX720 AZERTY keyboard and a Logitech M705 mouse (both wireless with the Logitech Unifying Receiver). I've just installed Ubuntu 12.04 (fresh install) and my problem is that my Wireless keyboard is always in QWERTY on the login screen (I've tried lightmd and gdm... same behaviour), my laptop keyboard is in AZERTY (like the wireless will must be). In the Xorg.0.log my keyboards are seen in layout 'fr' and variant 'oss' both... If I type my password with my laptop keyboard I'm logged in AZERTY but if I type my password on my wireless keyboard, I'm logged in QWERTY... [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 949130] Re: Display corrupts and flashes when changing resolution on GMA X3000
I raised a bug which I think is a duplicate of this bug. Mine is #993405 and is now marked as a duplicate of this bug. In my machine (details at my bug entry) the display got impossible and I was considering a reinstall, but I then remembered I had used nomodeset successfully on other old machines. I used nomodeset and it worked! :-) This is in a machine in which the 12.04 desktop 32 bit live cd worked fine! even apparently using 3D also. However, after install, I think 3D was no longer available, and although the default high resolution of the display worked ok, the user wanted a lower res (!) and it was after choosing lower res that the display really screwed up, and there was no going back (doh!) At least I could not find a way. But use of nomodeset in the boot string (grub menu visible, press e, and add nomodeset in appropriate place) and then making the change permanent /etc/default/grub (add nomodeset appropriately, and then update-grub) all worked. So although for me this bug was a complete show stopper, the nomodeset workaround means I now have no more problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/949130 Title: Display corrupts and flashes when changing resolution on GMA X3000 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/949130/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
