[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1026046] [NEW] Missing support for thumb resting on bottom of clickpad
Public bug reported: When using the trackpad on the MacBook Pro In Mac OS X it is possible to have the thumb resting (ready to click) on the bottom part of the touchpad while moving the mouse pointer around with your index or middle finger. Likewise it is also possible to use two finger scrolling with the index and middle finger on the upper part on the track pad while resting the thumb on the lower part of the trackpad. This behaviour is not currently supported with the synaptics driver in 12.04. It wil register a two finger scroll when the thumb is resting in the bottom part and index finger moves around in the upper part. I have tried playing aroud with the setting AreaBottomEdge that disables all motion on the bottom part of the touchpad. Unfortunately when this setting is enabled it still detects a finger in the area, so it wil register a two finger scroll like before. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1026046 Title: Missing support for thumb resting on bottom of clickpad To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/1026046/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 977804] Re: Unity crashes when many windows are opened (intel_do_flush_locked failed: No space left on device)
In my case, with a fully updated ubuntu 12.04 as of today, it happened to me twice... and many windows were actually just a couple of Nautilus, one Firefox, one Thunderbird... clicking on the top unity icon (trying to open a new application) froze everything once the dash was displayed, with four windows. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1024750] Re: Calibre crashes the window manager on start-up
Sory, for the confusion it has become late in my timezone and concentration has become low. Anyway, what we see here is a xorg crash. What we need is a stacktrace of it. 1.Then reproduce the crash. 2.Log in again and run apport-collect 1024750 from terminal. Where there is a warning message that you are not the original reporter - ignore it. When we have luck the XorgOld.log should have a valuable stacktrace in it and I can isolate it(or you if you want) and give as comment here. The best would be when the reproducing would be done under unity desktop. Many thanks in advance melchiaros Please only one person(the first) do the apport-collect. The later ones should only identifying and reporting back. When it is not the same we do a separate report. When the apport-collect run is done please set the status of the report back to confirmed. ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1024750 Title: Calibre crashes the window manager on start-up To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1024750/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 948053] Re: nvidia-96 and nvidia-173 uninstallable on Precise
linuxbastard, check your kernel version. I had the same problem and I noticed I was running 3.5.0-4-generic from xorg-edgers PPA. After returning to the official repository's version (3.2.0) the nvidia-173-updates package is working correctly on my machine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-173 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/948053 Title: nvidia-96 and nvidia-173 uninstallable on Precise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nvidia-drivers-ubuntu/+bug/948053/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 973096] Re: Nvidia driver causes xorg crash
You can count me in as well. Hope this get sorted out quickly... Can't deal with this for so long... My computer is my main tool for work. I know this is free software, and that we should be grateful for the people who makes this happens, but if you want to convince me to stick to your distro and even shell some bucks in the software center, which I'm seriously considering... interested in the cloud storage and some apps. However, if the distro keeps on crashing like this for so long, I'll just look elsewhere or as a last resort, install windows again. I've always had pretty bad experiences in the past, mainly due because I was using bleeding edge hardware, but I have slacked on upgrading, and last time I built my computer back 5 years ago, I made a pretty good one, and still going fine today... So I thought that with a 5 years computer, the hardware issue would all be resolved by now.. seems nvidia is still the same as it always been... ati was always the way to go... too bad I wasn't expecting to run linux when I picked that nvidia card... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/973096 Title: Nvidia driver causes xorg crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/973096/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Because the issue is in the proprietary video driver, there is little we can do on the distro end, except escalate to an NVIDIA engineer, which we have done.
