(In reply to comment #72) It is after recompiling cairo without server_side_gradients.patch, what makes chromium tabs much better. Don't bother with that, the bug is manifest inside the GPU. Your chromium tabs is just one instance where the GPU stutters, but it is not the only one and they are all not related to gradients (which is just a different texture after all). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1098489 Title: [gen4] Corruption in Chrome omni bar results using Intel SNA To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1098489/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

I'm including the dmesg of one of my machines with drm debug. ** Attachment added: dmesg.log https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1156310/+attachment/3581128/+files/dmesg.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1156310 Title: xrandr detects too many displays To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1156310/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1154431] Re: Unity doesn't start up
On 13 Mar 17, Rafal Cieślak wrote: I am affected by a bug which looks just as this one, and appeared in in apparently the same version of unity package, yet I can't tell if it's indeed the same - for I am using AMD graphics. If this is the same bug, I might provide additional information. Can you please share your output when running `unity`? In my case it complains - among many warnings and other info - that plugin 'opengl' failed to load. This seems to be a significant clue. Uninstalling the nvidia binary drivers and sticking with nouveau along with re-enabling the unity plugin from CCSM made unity reappear. Try to check if the unity plugin in enabled first. However, the nouveau driver has a whole new set of regressions. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1066464] Re: SiS driver crashes Xserver with EXA acceleration
I'm not an Ubuntu/Canonical employee (just a volunteer bug triager), so take this with a grain of salt... Frankly, I wouldn't hold my breath for this to get fixed (upstream X.org doesn't seem interested). The best thing for SiS users right now is to install Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS: http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/12.04.1/ Once you have 12.04.1 installed, make sure you DON'T install the xserver-xorg-lts-quantal package, or you'll hit this bug again. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1156574] [NEW] User interface crashes, computer restarts back to login screen
Public bug reported: Symptoms: All of a sudden the screen is black, and the computer restarts back to the login screen. Note: It's a full restart, not just the X server which crashes. Public bug reported: On a virtual Raring machine under kvm-qemu and Virtual Machine Manager to display the machine's screen in a window on the host's desktop I switched the emulated graphics card from cirrus first to qxl and when this only showed a black screen I switched to vmvga. As the default resolution was higher than the resolution of any really existing monitor I used the Display section of the System Settings to turn it to a more useful value, first to 1920x1080 (native resolution of host's monitor) and after that to 1280x720 (for displaying in a window) which all worked. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1156074] Re: [raring] after updates, i965 driver won't load
Timo, yes I had the GNOME3 PPA installed but after ppa-purging it and even rebooting, the problem remained. This affects both gdm (which I prefer to use) and lightdm with the unity greeter. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1134466] Re: Update request and SRU request - Update to Mesa 9.0.3 stable
i915 piglit went from 10533/11201 tests passed to 10541/11201 without regressions. radeon piglit went from 10533/11201 to 10541/11201, and seemingly regressed on piglit/framework/../bin/ext_framebuffer_multisample-unaligned-blit 6 stencil msaa -auto But after closer investigation I could get the failure on 9.0.2 too, and I managed to get a success once on 9.0.3 too. I believe that this is a flaky test on radeon, and not a real regression. nouveau: TBD, it's crashing on piglit. Possibly because I updated piglit before testing, it was working last time. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1134466 Title: Update request and SRU request - Update to Mesa 9.0.3 stable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/1134466/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1156310] Re: xrandr detects too many displays
I have reported the same symptoms earlier with an Intel Core i5 PC running Quantal, bug 1029865. I have installed the kernel from comment #7 also there and booted it, but that machine still shows the ghost VGA display and due to that comes up with a 1024x768 login screen. I have checked with uname -a that the fixed kernel is actually running. Is the fixed kernel not applicable to Quantal? Are more components of Raring needed (like X.org)? If so, I would try an upgrade to Raring. The xrandr output is as follows: -- till@till:~$ xrandr Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1920 x 1080, maximum 8192 x 8192 VGA1 connected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 1024x768 60.0 800x60060.3 56.2 848x48060.0 640x48059.9 HDMI1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) HDMI2 connected 1920x1080+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 510mm x 287mm 1920x1080 60.0*+ 1680x1050 59.9 1280x1024 60.0 1280x960 60.0 1280x720 60.0 1024x768 60.0 800x60060.3 720x57650.0 720x48059.9 640x48060.0 59.9 720x40070.1 DP1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) DP2 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) till@till:~$ -- -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1156310 Title: xrandr detects too many displays To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libxrandr/+bug/1156310/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1156803] [NEW] [Xinerama] Mouse jumps to wrong monitor during Mouselook in games
Public bug reported: When using multiple monitors with Xinerama where a monitor exists above the main monitor an issue arises using mouse look in games. This happens in both native OpenGL (Stream) or Wine Games (World of Warcraft). The game is running on the main monitor which is below a second monitor. When mouse looking in game, the character will look up when ever using mouselook. For a brief moment the mouse cursor will appear in the center of the upper monitor. My *guess* would be that the game requests the centering of the mouse cursor, since there is a monitor above the main monitor, it centers it in this view and xorg/xinerama does not take into account the extra pixels to the main monitor.
