[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1361062] Re: Bug report
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks! ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1361062 Title: Bug report To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1361062/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1349866] Re: [HP ProBook 455 G1] Display blank after resume (consistent)
Václav Šmilauer, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available from the very top line at the top of the page (not the daily folder) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested exactly shown as: kernel-fixed-upstream-3.17-rc1 This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your understanding. ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) = linux (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1349866 Title: [HP ProBook 455 G1] Display blank after resume (consistent) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1349866/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 861268] Re: text corruption in terminals (xterm, urxvt) and emacs
This is reproducible on the live desktop from ubuntu-12.04.5.iso running on a Thinkpad T42 (radeon graphics) - boot the iso, start xterm and the typed text is immediately corrupted with characters being replaced with white boxes, but dragging the window causes the boxes to be replaced by the expected characters. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1361209] [NEW] Hybrid Graphics, overheating with fans running constantly
Public bug reported: I have a Dell Inspiron 3521 with AMD/Intel hybrid graphics. OS - Ubuntu 14.04.1 (Linux kernel 3.13.0) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller (rev 09) 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Thames [Radeon HD 7500M/7600M Series] (rev ff) sudo cat /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch 0:IGD:+:Pwr::00:02.0 1:DIS: :DynOff::01:00.0 Fan runs constantly, and battery backup is maximum 2 hours or even less sometimes using the open-source drivers. I have posted a similar info for xserver-xorg-video-ati because I found a bug report #1304912. But recently I installed fglrx drivers to see if I get better results and changed the driver in use to Intel from the Catalyst-Control-Center. The observation I made was that the problem persisted even when only the intel drivers were in use. So there could be problem with xserver-xorg-video-intel as the discrete graphics card is shown to be dynamically off. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1361209 Title: Hybrid Graphics, overheating with fans running constantly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1361209/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1361277] [NEW] while installing the driver I need is not there causing problems
Public bug reported: Since Ubuntu 13.10 my computer needs the additional driver video driver for AMD graphic cards by fglrx. However, while installing (K)Ubuntu I don't have that driver. So I can only use my computer for about 10 seconds, then have to wait for about 30 seconds while it's frozen until I have another 10 seconds to click on the next item.
