[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1408593] Re: X server disables acceleartion or turns off output (makes screen black) after kernel upgrade to v3.18 (Ubuntu Vivid)

2015-01-18 Thread Wladimir Mutel
I will be back from vacation on Jan 19th and then test report on #28 more
fully.
Now I can only tell than with kernel 3.18.0-9.10 it shows both WW and EE in the
Xorg.0.log, and turns off acceleration (unfortunately I have this log already
rotated on my system)

for that.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1371853] Re: Logitech wireless mouse periodically loses correct click behaviour

2015-01-18 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Stas Zytkiewicz, thank you for your comment. So your issue may be dealt with as
soon as possible, and so your hardware may be tracked by having necessary
debugging information automatically attached, could you please file a new
report with Ubuntu by executing the following in a terminal:
ubuntu-bug xorg

Please ensure you have xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes
button for attaching additional debugging information.

For more on why this is most helpful, please read the official Ubuntu
documentation from the respective Ubuntu developer groups, and triage teams:
X.Org, Ubuntu Bug Control, and Ubuntu Bug Squad:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/BestPractices#X.2BAC8-Reporting.Focus_on_One_Issue
Ubuntu Community:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette

When opening up the new report, please feel free to subscribe me to it.

Thank you for your understanding.

Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1386721] Re: Graphics Slow After Upgrade 14.04 - 14.10

2015-01-18 Thread Logan Fleur
I've been using the xorg-edgers packages without any fault I've noticed,
and the blacklisting has removed the performance throttling which took
place. The only problems I have are graphics acceleration in Firefox and
Chrome, as far as I'm aware.

 think more testing is required.

 Title:
   Graphics Slow After Upgrade 14.04 - 14.10

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
   Confirmed

 Bug description:
Using Gnome Ubuntu 14.10, Dell XPS 13, intel 915 Graphics

After upgrading from 14.04 to 14.10 there are a lot of places where
the graphics are working much slower than they were before:

   - Gnome Shell Interface is very sluggish, visible chops (redrawing)
   when pressing the [Super] key.

   - Selecting text in Gedit takes a full second pr. line

Experiences some subjective improvement when I booted kernel 3.13.0-37
instead of 3.16.0-23, but that may be my imagination as the problem
   persists.

I've searched google, forums, found a couple of relevant links that
point to the issue being the Intel drivers.

   http://askubuntu.com/questions/53962...E2%86%92-14-10
   http://www.webupd8.org/2014/10/ubunt...ent-1652086424

But the drivers currently in 14.10 should be newer than those supplied
by Intel to 14.04 so that doesn't make sense to me. As one Intel
   developer wrote:

I would like to point out that since what we do is bring more ecent
versions of the software to the target distributions than they ship
with, a 14.04 targeted installer is unlikely to bring much to a 14.10
installation, which most likely has the same or more recent versions
   already anyway.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1400235] Re: 10de:11fc [Dell Precision M4800] Screen does not wake up after sleep

2015-01-18 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Marius B. Kotsbak, could you please test the latest upstream kernel
available from the very top line at the top of the page (the release
names are irrelevant for testing, and please do not test the daily
folder) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will
allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.

If the test did not allow you to test to the issue (ex. you couldn't boot into
the OS) please make a comment in your report about this, and continue to test
the next most recent kernel version until you can test to the issue. Once
you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version
specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please
add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested exactly
shown as:
kernel-fixed-upstream-3.19-rc4

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil
icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

Excactly the same bug occurs to me th elast few weeks.
Logitec wireless mouse and keyboard on a logitec unifying receiver and only the
mouse looses clicks while the keyboard keeps functioning.
Switching to virtual consoles and back doens't do anything.
Logout and back in will fix it so it almost looks like a userspace related

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1393169] Re: Double mouse cursor

2015-01-18 Thread Scott I. Remick
I get this a lot myself. The only temporary solution is to reboot but it
comes back eventually. I'm already on my latest BIOS. Xubuntu 14.10

This also seems identical to bug 1396361.

HOW TO REPRODUCE:
- On Ubuntu this is happening at random, but more frequently running videos on
YouTube with the HTML5 player (https://www.youtube.com/html5) or with the XBMC
home theatre software.

RESULT:
- Graphics hang with an homogeneous colour on screen or blank screen, and with
chirp coming from the graphics card.
