[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1535452] Re: [15.10 REGRESSION] Builtin laptop display doesn't turn back on when external hdmi monitor is unplugged
The usual bullshit again, I'm sick of it. Did you miss the part where i said this used to work on 15.04? Just in case i was not clear about it, that was on the same computer with the same bios. So, it's not a bug in the bios, or in the extremely unlikely event that it is, it can and hence must be worked around, as it worked in previous releases. I'm not upgrading my bios until Ubuntu will provide an easy and safe way to do so without relying on booting from another OS. There are computers out there with outdated bios, fucking accept that. If you don't drop this retarded policy of ignoring bugs just because they appear on older bioses, Ubuntu will never become a decent usable OS, and we are already finishing the alphabet. ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1535452 Title: [15.10 REGRESSION] Builtin laptop display doesn't turn back on when external hdmi monitor is unplugged To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1535452/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1535456] Re: Xorg crashed when attempting to turn on laptop's builtin display
I'm not wasting my time doing all that stuff. I reported this bug using the ubuntu-bug tool. If a crash report is needed or useful and it was not included, the tool is broken, and you need to fix it so that the next time i use ubuntu-bug or apport, everything you need to investigate the bug is included automatically. Also, you ask me to reproduce the bug, and it's not systematically reproducible. ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1535456 Title: Xorg crashed when attempting to turn on laptop's builtin display To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1535456/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1531029] Re: Random Xorg crash while using Chrome
devbie, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is missing. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. First, execute at a terminal: cd /var/crash && sudo rm * ; sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y dist-upgrade && sudo service apport start force_start=1 If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now reproduce the crash, then open a terminal, navigate to your /var/crash directory and file your report with: sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. By default, this sends the crash to the Ubuntu Error Tracker infrastructure, which is different than Launchpad. For more on this, please see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ErrorTracker . However, if after doing this you would still like to have a crash report posted to Launchpad, for example to ease triage and add others to your report, one would need to open the following file via a terminal: sudo nano /etc/apport/crashdb.conf and comment out the line: 'problem_types': ['Bug', 'Package'], by changing it to: # 'problem_types': ['Bug', 'Package'], Save, close, and file the crash report via: sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash However, this report is being closed since the process outlined above will deal with this issue more efficiently. Also, please do not attach your crash report manually to this report and reopen it. Thank you for your understanding. Alex, what I do notice is that the color of the scrollbar changes between your two pictures. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1535447] Re: Intel Graphics 4K Screen Tearing
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected kubuntu third-party-packages vivid ** Description changed: On a fresh boot all works well, but after an indeterminate amount of time the screen starts tearing badly, most noticeably as a permanent vertical tear. Once this tearing starts, it affects everything (desktop, etc) but is mostly visible in videos. The only way to get rid of the tear is to reboot. I do not know where this tearing is occurring, compositor? graphics driver? Hardware, Intel NUC5i5RYK (integrated graphics), LG 31MU97 DCI 4K monitor (4096x2160). Using a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable between the NUC and monitor. 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Broadwell-U Integrated Graphics (rev 09) Software, Kubuntu 15.04 I also see the same problem in 15.10, but the computer I took the video of has 15.04 installed. The screen resolution is set to 4096x2160. In my syslog, I also see tons of these error messages (I dont know if they are related to the tearing). [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1538221] [NEW] Monitors on DisplayPort do not wake from sleep
Public bug reported: Potentially related: http://askubuntu.com/questions/546818/displayport-monitor-not-detected-if-switched-off-and-on-again https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88063 http://superuser.com/questions/945362/displayport-link-failure-after-monitor-sleep I have three monitors plugged into an ATI HD 7950, one through DVI, the others through DisplayPort, via dual-link adapters. When KDE puts the monitors to sleep, only the DVI monitor wakes up, not the DisplayPort monitors. xrandr shows all three monitors on. xset dpms force on does not work. Using xrandr to change the resolution and change it back does not work. Logging out and logging back in does not work. Trying to switch to CLI with shift-alt-f1, I see a console, but it shows the bootlog (on the DVI monitor), without a login prompt. Trying to log out and log back in, lightdm behaves as though the other two monitors are on, but only displays on the DVI. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1538221 Title: Monitors on DisplayPort do not wake from sleep To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-ati/+bug/1538221/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1434351] Re: X fonts and widgets disappear after suspend/resume cycle
The issue was still present in linux-4.4.0 - but today (after switching to the first beta of 4.5.0) it did no more happen. If we are really lucky this means the issue is resolved in that version of the kernel. Will comment this bug again once I have more experience with this kernel version. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1434351 Title: X fonts and widgets disappear after suspend/resume cycle To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1434351/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1537766] Re: Graphical glitch with scrollbars
I'm not sure if this belongs to gnome-terminal, xorg or something else, but it's not as designed. Look at my first attachment "White strange scrollbar". The scrollbars was changed in 15.10, but in 15.10 they worked. Look at the image, the area beside and above the scrollbar is white/grey when it should match the terminal color and transparcency. Works in 15.10, but not in 16.04. ** Attachment added: "The scrollbar with problems" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1537766/+attachment/4556814/+files/Skjermbilde%20fra%202016-01-25%2014-28-34.png ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1537766 Title: Graphical glitch with scrollbars To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1537766/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1537766] Re: Graphical glitch with scrollbars
** Description changed: It seems like the scrollbars should be small until I hover over them, but for me the area where the scrollbar should be hidden turns white. Everything is fine when I hover over it. I think this is the same everywhere, but it's visible in the terminal as the background is something other than plain white. Pictures attached.
