Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1537124] Re: dual monitor setup half second screen does not display some programs
themusicgod1, as per https://www-947.ibm.com/support/entry/portal/docdisplay?lndocid=migr-45279 an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (1.51). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything? For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report. Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible: 1) Please provide the output of the following terminal command (not perform an apport-collect): sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date 2) Please make a comment specifically advising on if there was an improvement or not. 3) Please mark this report Status New. If it's not reproducible, please mark this as Invalid. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1538741] Re: Xorg freeze
I've upgraded the BIOS to version 2.27 rev 2 from 2011 and upgraded the kernel. I also tested 3.19.0-43 again and wasn't able to reproduce the problem with "sleep 1; xset s activate". [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1531845] Re: Xorg freeze
I have been working with no problems since Jan. 20. Today an Ubuntu update wanted me to reboot, then after reboot the computer froze when I started Android Studio. Rebooted again, same, and again. What seems to help is when I type IBUS_ENABLE_SYNC_MODE=1 ibus-daemon -xrd (from here: http://tools.android.com/knownissues/ibus) I'm not sure if this actually works, but now I disabled ibus and I have no freeze. The issue they report is different from what I see. For now, I'll just never reboot my computer. I hope someone is working on the bug. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1540997] [NEW] Input hot-plugging patches for Xephyr
Public bug reported: Please consider including this patch series [1] for in Xenial's xorg- server package. It's a crucial one to get single-GPU multi-seat working in Ubuntu the easiest way (it works with all flavours that use LightDM as the default display manager), and would be a quite valuable feature for a LTS release, without need to maintain a forked package in Ubuntu Multiset PPA. I work with a large set of single-GPU multi-seat computers for education, and I'm trying to get these patches upstreamed in time for Xenial release, but I have no idea when Adam Jackson will get to review it.
