[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1243642] Re: .Xmodmap not automatically loaded on start
Reading the bugzilla bug linked in #16, we are asked to not use gnome if we want to be able to tweak one or the other key on our keyboard, because they are not able to build a working UI on top of xmodmap. At least this is what I read from it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1243642 Title: .Xmodmap not automatically loaded on start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1243642/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1545245] Re: package firefox 39.0+build5-0ubuntu0.14.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: cannot copy extracted data for './usr/lib/firefox/libxul.so' to '/usr/lib/firefox/libxul.so.dp
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal: sudo apt-get clean Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your issue, but the failure could be caused by filesystem or memory corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a memory test. Thanks in advance! Daniel Qian, as per http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product- support/product/vostro-3400/drivers an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (A12). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything? For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1545289] Re: High cpu use for xorg using Firefox
hans-erik sigra, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3310#bios an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (F7). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything? For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report. Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible: 1) Please provide the output of the following terminal command (not perform an apport-collect): sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date 2) Please make a comment specifically advising on if there was an improvement or not. 3) Please mark this report Status New. If it's not reproducible, please mark this as Invalid. Thank you for your understanding. ** Tags added: bios-outdated-f7 ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1545289 Title: High cpu use for xorg using Firefox To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1545289/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
