[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1595020] [NEW] Unity/Launcher Z Order errors.

2016-06-21 Thread Biatu
Public bug reported:

I have been noticing issues with windows being hidden when switching
between windows. For example, When performing a File operation, the File
Operations Dialog will disappear, and will not be accessible again
through the launcher, or the window that called the dialog. The only way
to get back to the dialog is to minimize all blocking windows.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1581560] Re: system crash when attaching external display

2016-06-21 Thread Rob Latham
I tried an upstream kernel ( 4.4.12-040412-generic #201606011712 ).
Attaching after suspend/resume no longer results in a crash.

The screen frequently fails to restore on the first try. dmesg has
these lines in that case:

[drm:intel_mst_disable_dp [i915]] *ERROR* failed to update payload -22
[drm] GPU HANG: ecode 8:-1:0x, reason: Kicking stuck wait on blitter
ring, action: continue
[drm:intel_cpu_fifo_underrun_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* CPU pipe A FIFO
underrun

But, in an improvement from the Ubuntu kernel, I can unplug and try
again with success.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1586539] Re: Major screen flickering in Chromium and Google Chrome

2016-06-21 Thread Vasya Pupkin
joakimk...@gmail.com posted a real workaround on chromium bug tracker:

===
sudo nano /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf

Paste this:

Section "Device"
  Identifier "Intel Graphics"
  Driver "intel"
  Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"
EndSection

Save and reboot.
===

This works for me.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1594854] [NEW] Touchscreen not responding to touch - only mouse input

2016-06-21 Thread TenLeftFingers
Public bug reported:

I thought this report (comment #8 specifically, which describes the fix)
would fix the issue but in my case the udev rule is not misplaced.

Expected: Touching the screen should be interpreted like a mouse and affect the
pointer
Actual: Touching has no effect, as if the screen is not touch screen.

Thanks aroundworker for the i3lock tip in #103. This fixed the mouse
issue in Xubuntu 16.04. It also resolved an issue with RDP breaking in
VirtualBox when the screen was locked.

I don't feel that repeated comments saying "I am seeing this bug too"
are adding much at this point.

Unless you have more concrete contributions to make (which might be
better added to the upstream bug
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94677), just click on the
'Yes, it affects me' link at the top of the page.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1594671] [NEW] warn in skl_update_other_pipe_wm

2016-06-21 Thread Joel Stanley
Public bug reported:

Lenovo X1 Carbon 4th gen (Skylake) with the latest firmware.

When plugging a monitor in to the DisplayPort connection on my dock, the
display froze.

No keyboard input appeared to be working, and the "mute" LEDs would not
light when I pressed the F1/Mute key. However the system was still
running as a browser tab was still playing music.

I am running gnome-shell on Ubuntu Xenial.

On the next boot I saw this once logged in. I then rebooted and
submitted this bug report (so the logs collected are from the third
boot. The monitor is working).
