[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1746740] Re: XPS13 L322X Bionic (daily dev) touchpad laggy

2018-04-14 Thread seanlano
I've updated my patch to libinput, in
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104990#c25

Hopefully the devs there will shortly be able to revert the older patch,
apply the new one, and then it will make it's way into Bionic.

The flickering does not happen if I bypass the Avocent SV340D KVM and
plug directly into the monitor. Any thoughts as to why this would
happen?

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1763975] Re: DP1.2 daisy-chain flickering

2018-04-14 Thread Stuart
** Description changed:

  Hi all,

  I have a NUC7i7BNH with the latest BIOS (0062) running Ubuntu 18.04
  (uname -r = 4.15.0-15-generic). I have the NUC connected via USB-C to
- DisplayPort on a Dell U2414 which has DP1.2 enabled and is daisy-
- chainged to another Dell U2414 (DP1.2 disabled on the second monitor as
- per Dell instructions).
+ DisplayPort, to an Avocent SV340D KVM, then to a Dell U2415 which has
+ DP1.2 enabled and is daisy-chainged to another Dell U2415 (DP1.2
+ disabled on the second monitor as per Dell instructions).

I am getting flickering whereby randomly display1 or display2 turn black
and then back on again. When I disable DP1.2 on the display1, and
therefore get a duplicate display (as opposed to extended) on display2,
I get no flickering at all.

The same setup yields no flickering when running from a Windows 10 box,
so don't think it is the monitors.

I wasn't able to reproduce with 16.04. Did you install the regular
Ubuntu desktop, or a specific flavour?

Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1746740] Re: XPS13 L322X Bionic (daily dev) touchpad laggy

2018-04-14 Thread Bib
Thank you Sean. I tried and needed to change a bit your tweak so that it
matches :
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104990#c23
Been a pure newb and the trial was so hard for me, I don't feel I'm
courageous enough to push anything in the git.
Can I hope you'll do it or do I have to work this myself for the community?

Best thanks and regards
Fabrice

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1763892] [NEW] 144Hz/120Hz monitor but Wayland sessions seem to cap rendering at 60FPS

2018-04-14 Thread Knut Sindre Åbjørsbråten
Public bug reported:

Monitor is set to 144hz, but on Wayland it visually fails to go above
60Hz. On XOrg it runs higher and feels much smoother. I have
confirmed the monitor is running at 144Hz during the Wayland session,
and that is also the setting in the Settings control panel.

Using the additional NVidia drivers installed using the Ubuntu software
control panel.
