Yes, please remove both of those from your system and follow the steps in comment #3. To get rid of the problem, I tried to install the amdgpu-pro driver 18.50, but it is supported only in ubuntu 18.04. Then I installed the free driver https://launchpad.net/~oibaf/+archive/ubuntu/graphics- drivers. but unfortunately the problem is not solved. ** Description changed: - The screen flickers always at a frequency of 75 GHz on GPU AMD RX 580. It looks like a problem with the Xorg graphics driver: [44.332] (EE) amdgpu: module ABI major version (23) doesn't match the server's version (24) [44.332] (EE) Failed to load module "amdgpu" (module requirement mismatch, 0) so your system then falls back to using the 'modeset' Xorg driver with the 'amdgpu' kernel driver. ** Tags added: amdgpu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1813701 Title: [amdgpu] Flickering graphics corruption in kernel 4.18.0-13.14-generic 4.18.17 (but none observed in kernel 4.18.0-10) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1813701/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1813376] Re: i dont know what that is
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
