[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1820943] Re: no xorg
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => xorg-server (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Tags added: amdgpu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1820943 Title: Xorg crashes [AMDGPU(0): Failed to open amdgpu hybrid version] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1820943/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1820884] Re: Odd behavior in qt apps with libinput
** Description changed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eqo16hLQWSY&feature=youtu.be Demonstrated using qdirstat. Similar behavior in calibre and the desktop menu of retroarch. In qdirstat, it wants to select the cells when I click on one of them. In retroarch it likes to select the text on the welcome screen as well. In the boxes to the right, the file name doesn't display until I move my mouse after I click on one of them. These issues do not appear while the synaptics touchpad driver is installed, so libinput may be the culprit. The wine version of WinDirStat works fine with either input driver. Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS xserver-xorg-input-libinput 0.27.1-1 libqt5gui5 5.9.5+dfsg-0ubuntu2 qdirstat 1.4-2 + + There is another potentially unrelated issue I've been having, which + also doesn't appear when using the synaptics driver, in which when I + click on one of my created bookmarks on the left side of nautilus, my + mouse appears to automatically drag the bookmark, as if I wanted to move + it to a new location, much like how it drags the cells or text in qt, + but in gtk. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1811863] Re: [amdgpu + nvidia PCI passthrough] Screen flickering on ultra wide
I have the flickering problem with 2560x1440 screens, AMD Radeon RX 550. tried it on two screens: asus and samsung. asus is capable of freesync, samsung not. asus can handle higher frequency, samsung 50Hz only. On samsung it works without any problems. On asus monitor I have the same flickering problem on 75Hz, switching down to 60Hz solves the problem. I'm on Ubuntu 18.10, kernel 4.18.0-16. - with very intense flickering. Upgraded to 5.0.2 kernel manually, seems like flickering is a little bit better. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1811863 Title: [amdgpu + nvidia PCI passthrough] Screen flickering on ultra wide To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1811863/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
