[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1862835] Re: Unable to change laptop screen brightness or keyboard backlighting
First a small warning: You seem to be using the 'oibaf' graphics PPA which is not supported and is known to cause bugs. However I think it's unlikely that's relevant here. Second, other people are already reporting that having the Nvidia driver installed has broken their brightness control. See bug 1861532 and bug 1857764. Please try uninstalling the Nvidia driver, and try uninstalling that PPA. ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => ubuntu ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1862835 Title: Unable to change laptop screen brightness or keyboard backlighting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1862835/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

You have been subscribed to a public bug: I am running a Dell XPS 15. Updating to 20.04 means that the keyboard bindings for changing the brightness and keypad backlighting don't work. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1862852] Re: lubuntu loads slow and browser cannot handle multiple windows
Thanks for the bug report. 1. You seem to be using the 'oibaf' PPA which is unsupported and is known to cause bugs. But also... 2. Ubuntu 19.04 "disco" is no longer supported at all as it reached end- of-life on 23 January 2020 (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases). Please upgrade to Ubuntu 19.10 before logging any more bugs. And be sure to not use any PPAs if you intend to log bugs. ** Tags added: performance ** Summary changed: - lubuntu loads slow and browser cannot handle multiple windows + [Intel Merom] lubuntu loads slow and browser cannot handle multiple windows ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => ubuntu ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1862852 Title: [Intel Merom] lubuntu loads slow and browser cannot handle multiple windows To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1862852/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1862753] [NEW] Backport GPU hotplug RandR fix
Public bug reported: In order for the first DisplayLink device hotplug after reboot to be correctly acted on in GNOME, the following fix should be backported to all Xorg-server downstream branches that already apply the patch "xf86: autobind GPUs to the screen" (upstream 078277e4d92f05a90c4715d61b89b9d9d38d68ea): https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/merge_requests/326 The related upstream bug report fixed by this is https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/issues/909 I originally diagnosed the issue on Ubuntu 19.04 with Xorg based on the 1.20.4 upstream release. Upstream will not backport this patch into the stable 1.20 branch, because that branch does not carry "xf86: autobind GPUs to the screen". ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1862753 Title: Backport GPU hotplug RandR fix To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1862753/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
