[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1922414] Re: ssh-agent fails to start (has_option: command not found)
As a workaround, I created the file 01x11-has_option (find it attached) and placed it in /etc/X11/Xsession.d/. It defines has_option unless it is already defined somewhere else. ssh-agent now runs in the background on startup again. ** Attachment added: "/etc/X11/Xsession.d/01x11-has_option" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1922414/+attachment/5485456/+files/01x11-has_option -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1922414 Title: ssh-agent fails to start (has_option: command not found) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1922414/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1922414] Re: ssh-agent fails to start (has_option: command not found)
Looks like /etc/X11/Xsession is not executed, but the files in /etc/X11/Xsession.d/ are sourced somehow. My best guess is that there's some other mechanism emulating Xsession's behaviour but without defining has_option. Maybe this is a pending bug introduced in an earlier version of Ubuntu that has come to light just now, after has_option has been moved as #3 points out. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1922583] Re: xfce4-sensors-plugin: FTBFS: NVCtrlLib.h:42:1: error: unknown type name ‘Bool’; did you mean ‘bool’?
The issue was never really in xfce4-sensors-plugin, it was in nvidia- settings. Since the FTBFS is fixed with the newer nvidia-settings, I'm going to mark this as 'invalid' for xfce4-sensors-plugin as the FTBFS wasn't part of the package itself but a supporting package that was required. ** Changed in: xfce4-sensors-plugin (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-settings in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1922583 Title: xfce4-sensors-plugin: FTBFS: NVCtrlLib.h:42:1: error: unknown type name ‘Bool’; did you mean ‘bool’? [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1922723] Re: Weird CTRL+SHIFT+KEY behaviour in Xorg sessions
I found a solution. I turned off the "Locate Pointer" accessibility setting. So SHIFT+CTRL+KEY does not work in xorg session if "Locate Pointer" is turned on. ** Summary changed: - Weird CTRL+SHIFT+KEY behaviour in Xorg sessions + Weird CTRL+SHIFT+KEY behaviour in Xorg sessions with "Locate Pointer" on ** Description changed: I run a newly installed Ubuntu Hirsute. Inside a "Ubuntu on Xorg"(GNOME) session i cannot use CTRL+SHIFT+KEY shortcut normally. If I press first CTRL, then SHIFT, then KEY everything works. If I press SHIFT, then CTRL then KEY nothing happens. On the Ubuntu (GNOME Wayland) session things works out normal. Step to reproduce: * Log in in a Xorg session + * Turn on the "Locate Pointer" setting in Setting/Accessibility * Open gnome-terminal * Press CTRL + SHIFT + "N" (in this order), a new terminal window appears * Press SHIFT + CTRL + "N" (in this order), nothing happens. The same happens with Firefox, Nautilus and other apps. Possibly, Related to this, I also found that, only on a Xorg session, during a Wine-runned gamed I play "CTRL + KEY" behaves just like "KEY". But this might be a Wine bug. But then i could solve the >issue and it worked fine for a while: sudo apt remove xserver-xorg-input-synaptics Then i installed VirtualBox and also installed some additional dependencies: sudo apt-get install -y build-essential zlibc zlib1g-dev ruby ruby-dev openssl libxslt-dev libxml2-dev libssl-dev libreadline6 libreadline6-dev libyaml-dev libsqlite3-dev sqlite3 sudo apt-get install -y build-essential zlibc zlib1g-dev ruby ruby-dev openssl libxslt1-dev libxml2-dev libssl-dev libreadline7 libreadline-dev libyaml-dev libsqlite3-dev sqlite3 I also installed ruby 2.7.0p0 (2019-12-25 revision 647ee6f091) [x86_64-linux-gnu] and GCC via: sudo apt install build-essential Now my touchpad doesn't work and i can't remove synaptics again, because its not even installed. I also tried editing the grub file: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash i8042.nopnp" and also tried: GRUB_CMDLINE_LIN UX_DEFAULT="quiet splash psmouse.proto=bare" GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="i8042.reset i8042.nomux i8042.nopnp i8042.noloop" The devices-list proc/bus/input/devices is attached to this report but unfortunately, there is no touchpad listed. And here is the xinput list: xinput list ⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2[master pointer (3)] ⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointerid=4[slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ Surface Mobile Mouse id=16 [slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ MX Keys Consumer Control id=18 [slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ MX Keys Mouse id=20 [slave pointer (2)] ⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3[master keyboard (2)] ↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5[slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Power Button id=6[slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Video Bus id=7[slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Power Button id=8[slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Sleep Button id=9[slave keyboard (3)] ↳ HP HD Camera: HP HD Cameraid=10 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ HP HD Camera: HP IR Cameraid=11 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=12 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ HP Wireless hotkeys id=13 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ HP WMI hotkeysid=14 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Surface Mobile Mouse Keyboard id=15 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ MX Keys Keyboard id=17 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ MX Keys Consumer Control id=19 [slave keyboard (3)] I am thankful for any help.
