[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 2015373] Re: massive yellow screen color corruption

2023-04-06 Thread Dan
The corruption occurs as soon as "try ubuntu" is clicked and seems to be
caused by the "automatic" color-profile being applied ("Automatic -
C24F390", Samsung monitor C24F390). It can temporarily be fixed by
removing the automatic profile and activating "Colorspace sRGB" profile.
A permanent patch would be for the "Try Ubuntu" feature to automatically
select Colorspace sRGB instead of automatic.

Try vainfo:

ubuntu@ubuntu-Latitude-7440:~$ vainfo
libva info: VA-API version 1.14.0
libva info: Trying to open /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/iHD_drv_video.so

Next step, i install only intel-media-driver from
https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/tjaalton/ppa/ubuntu:

ubuntu@ubuntu-Latitude-7440:~$ apt policy libigdgmm12
libigdgmm12:
  Installed: 22.1.2+ds1-1

  Version table:

amd64 Packages
 *** 22.1.2+ds1-1 500

100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

ubuntu@ubuntu-Latitude-7440:~$ apt policy intel-media-va-driver
intel-media-va-driver:
  Installed: 22.3.1+dfsg1-1ubuntu0.1~ppa1
  Candidate: 22.3.1+dfsg1-1ubuntu1

Now vainfo works !

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 2009767] Please test proposed package

2023-04-06 Thread Łukasz Zemczak
Hello Kai-Chuan, or anyone else affected,

Accepted xorg-server into jammy-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-
server/2:21.1.4-2ubuntu1.7~22.04.1 in a few hours, and then in the
-proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
jammy to verification-done-jammy. If it does not fix the bug for you,
please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-
failed-jammy. In either case, without details of your testing we will
not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 2009767] Re: External HDMI monitor is laggy on NVIDIA-525 reverse PRIME system

2023-04-06 Thread Łukasz Zemczak
Unfortunate that this can't be fixed with a targetted fix. The good part
is that we anyway do xorg-server MRE's for HWE stack updates for LTSes -
and if Timo feels comfortable enough to sponsor this backport for jammy,
that's already a good clue for me.

** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu Jammy)
Status: In Progress => Fix Committed

** Tags added: verification-needed verification-needed-jammy
