[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 653533] [NEW] [i915] Regression from Lucid DVI + LVDS screen corrupted

2010-10-02 Thread Chaostya
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

In Lucid I had dual monitor setup with my Dell D610 laptop connected to Dock
station.
I've had DVI(1280x1024)+LVDS(1440x1050) running good - big desktop stretched
along 2 monitors.
After upgrade to Maverick same setup behaves weird. In Preferences-Monitors it
shows that both are On and DVI is left to LVDS but LVDS screen is black and the
strangest thing is that moving cursor beyond right border of DVI shows it on
LVDS but it can't move more the it's length there so it can only visit small
stripe of LVDS and get back to DVI.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 640824] Re: Keyboard layout messed up after a while

2010-09-30 Thread Chaostya
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 633167 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/633167

When it starts self-switching just kill gnome-settings and layouts would
behave. But as a side effect theme goes boom too.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 422406] Re: [i915gm] Karmic Koala, i915, Unknown monitor (fails to get EDID)

2009-09-23 Thread Chaostya
Found the exact scenario to reproduce my problem:

When it works:
1. We have a laptop completely turned off. First we plug-in external monitor
and then we turn it on.
2. Boot and try to get EDID - it works.
How to make it fail:
3. Suspend my laptop. And unplug external monitor.
4. Wake it up. Adjust laptop screen resolution via System-Preferences-Display.
5. Suspend it again. Plug external monitor.
6. Wake it up. Try to get EDID - failure, it doesn't reads CRT edid anymore
(but still reads LVDS edid).

2009-09-14 Thread Chaostya
get-edid, ddcprobe can't get EDID. But not always, there are times when
they can, but can't figure out what are the circumstances. Tried on
another monitor (Samsung 192P) couldn't get EDID too. But as I said my
ViewSonic works and shows EDID on Windows (as I have dual boot config).
