[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1042211] Re: [quantal] [regression] [i915] Corrupted display, desktop and menus don't repaint correctly using Mesa 9.0 (8.0.4 works)

2012-08-31 Thread Colin King
Confirming on a HP Mini 210 netbook, i915 graphics, same artifacts and
mess as apw is seeing. Again, Downgrading libgl1-mesa-glx libgl1-mesa-
dri and libglapi-mesa to 8.0.4 fixes the issue for me.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 906987] [NEW] syndaemon polls 5 times a second even though it is started with the -R XRecord extension option

2011-12-20 Thread Colin King
Public bug reported:

syndaemon is polling at 5Hz even on an idle system. It is waking up the
CPU and wasting power.

However, it is running with -R option that should enable it to use
XRecord which avoids polling, so I believe gnome-settings-daemon is
doing the right thing. This used to work, I believe it was fixed for
natty (see bug #633125), so it is a regressed on Oneric and it is also
broken in Precise (I checked against today's daily build).

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 539630] [NEW] Xorg display corruption, Dell Inspiron 6400, Lucid Beta ISO test

2010-03-16 Thread Colin King
Public bug reported:

ISO testing, AMD64 test: ISO image http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-
live/20100316/lucid-desktop-amd64.iso

Test: http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/result/3764/6

Hardware: Dell Inspirion 6400, Video: ATI Technologies Inc M52 [Mobility
Radeon X1300]

During installation while ubiquity is asking for configuration settings,
the Xorg display is showing small amounts of random noise across the
screen. This is approximately 16 pixels wide, 1 pixel high, very light
in colour and only shows up against the darker parts of the background.
It is a minor irritation.

However, this problem goes once Lucid is installed and one boots into
the system.

I tried to report the bug using apport-bug against xorg, but this tool
informs me that This is not a genuine Ubuntu package.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 520578] [NEW] X resets or hangs after plugging/unplugging USB keyboard several times

2010-02-11 Thread Colin King
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

Running with lucid amd64 with latest updates (as of 11/02/2010), I've
noticed in the past few days that X either restarts or locks up after
I've plugged/unplugged a USB keyboard several times.

Looking at dmesg there is no sign of segfaulting (X restarting case) or
the machine hanging (when X locks up) since I can ssh it the machine.
