[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1263319] Re: Touchpad not detected on Dell XPS 13 (9333)
I'm seeing something similar to xian98. I have i2c_hid black listed as described, but mostly use a mouse. After multiple suspend / wake cycles the mouse stops working and I have to reboot. FYI: Ubuntu moved nvidia driver to 1.1 and is now important security update. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 661546] Re: Slow graphics on Mobile Intel 943GML
I'm running into the same issue on Natty. This is on a MacBook 2,1 with an external monitor. Intel 945GM chipset. It appears to be related to the framebuffer size. The laptop panel works fine alone, as does an external monitor at 1920x1080 alone. However, if I enable both displays at full resolution, then I get the Failed to set tiling on frontbuffer error message in Xorg.0.log, and compositing is *very slow*. If I reduce the resolution on both monitors, then I can get it working correctly again. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 676413] Re: Video playback performance drops substantially after suspend/wake cycle (Lenovo X201 i5 w/ Intel GMA HD)
Actually, after playing around with scrolling, it looks like it does degrade pretty noticeably after a sleep/wake cycle. It's a lot worse on sites that have more images on them. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 676413] [NEW] Video playback performance drops substantially after suspend/wake cycle (Lenovo X201 i5 w/ Intel GMA HD)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel Note: I'm not 100% sure that this issue is with the driver, but it's my best guess and I figured it would include the most relevant diagnostic info. I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 32-bit on a Lenovo X201 (i5, Intel GMA HD graphics). When I first boot, video playback for Flash and HTML5 videos in Chrome and Firefox is smooth. But if I suspend then wake up, it drops noticeably. A few examples: - HTML5 videos play smoothly after a reboot. Once I suspend/wake, they're choppy at best. Regular-sized videos seem to play fine regardless of size. - Flash videos play smoothly (albeit with the usual Flash bugginess) after a reboot. Once I suspend/wake, they're *really* choppy on Chrome, and bring Firefox to its knees (it freezes for seconds at a time). Playing videos in Movie Player doesn't seem to be affected by this, but I'm not sure if this is just a result of it being so much more efficient than the browsers that the performance drop isn't visible. Likewise, I'm not sure if there's a qualitative difference between the full-screen and regular-sized videos in Chrome and Firefox, or if the added load of scaling the videos is making the performance hit noticeable. I've tried both 64-bit and 32-bit 10.10, and both seem to suffer from exactly the same problem. I don't recall this being an issue in 10.04--I only used it for a month or so before 10.10 was released, but I think I would have noticed this regardless. Here's the important part: Section Device Option AccelMethodEXA [...] EndSection Why does this work? For some cards like some models of Mobility Radeon the developers decided to change the default from EXA to XAA for performance reasons. Most other ATI cards default to EXA, but some default to XAA.
