[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1049569] Re: alt+dot is not working for bash's insert-last-argument
Yes this was about eightBitMeta, thank you for pointing me rigth direction. When eightBitMeta=true (this is default) alt+dot = ® (Registered trademark) alt+0 = ° (degree) alt+q = ñ and there are many of these accented characters. When eightBitMeta=false (in bash) (xterm -xrm '*eightBitInput: false') alt+dot = insert-last-argument alt+0 = (arg: 0). same as ESC+0 alt+q (and others) =nothing There are long discussion which one should be default: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=326200 ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #326200 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=326200 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xterm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1049569 Title: alt+dot is not working for bash's insert-last-argument To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xterm/+bug/1049569/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
