High FPS and after 2 min the games freeze with audio loop. CPU in 0%. Hello everyone, jumping in here with the same issue (with a QML application). I just tested backporting that specific commit (http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/lib/libXext/commit/?id=11aad96bd689d54156064d2e81213dc827a689d1) to the version currently in launchpad for utopc and it seems to solve the issue. only the spamming issue I guess. However I have tried the oibaf ppa that provides a complete more on the edge graphic stack. I'm a little hesitant when it comes to the libxext installation from Vivid; is there some way to figure out if this is going to break my package dependencies? I'm currently on Edgers. When I try to install the new libxext6, the version is higher than the one required by my current libxext-dev. Now, I can remove my current libxext-dev, but that would also entail removing these packages: libatk-bridge2.0-dev libatspi2.0-dev libcairo2-dev libcanberra-gtk3-dev libgl1-mesa-dev libglu1-mesa-dev libgtk-3-dev libpango1.0-dev libqt4 -opengl-dev libxcomposite-dev libxext-dev libxi-dev libxinerama-dev libxrandr-dev libxtst-dev . My concern is that there might be a cascading problem if I put in the new libxext6 and libxext-dev from Vivid and then try to reinstall all of those other packages. I don't want to actually move off of Trusty right now. Same problem here. Xubuntu 14.10 64bit Intel HD 4600 I am having the _xgeWireToEvent: Unknown extension 148, this should never happen. logged due to steam. Updating to libXext 1.3.3 should solve the problem. Confirmed: libXext 1.3.3 solve the error spamming problem. You can install this version from Ubuntu 15.04 (Vivid) both i386 and amd64 (just in case). NOTE: For steam users, you will also have to replace the steam libXext libraries provided by steam package. This may well be an issue with xserver-xorg-core 1.16, or recent xserver-xorg-video-intel. I am getting the _xgeWireToEvent: Unknown extension 148, this should never happen. log messages as well, but only when the Epiphany web browser is rendering HTML content with alpha channel 1.0. When this is happening, rendering performance degrades by orders of magnitude. If the transparent content is hidden or the page is closed, the messages stop and performance is restored.
