[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1500387] Re: System boots to a black screen and the customer has to close the lid and reopen it to trigger a DPMS event and then video is restored
This issue has sat incomplete for over six years now without any input from the reporter so it is being closed as "Invalid". As per the request in comment #45, if this is still an issue when using a currently supported release of Ubuntu anyone other than the reporter should open a new bug report of their own by issuing the command ubuntu-bug-xorg in a terminal. ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid ** Changed in: dell-sputnik Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1500387 Title: System boots to a black screen and the customer has to close the lid and reopen it to trigger a DPMS event and then video is restored To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/dell-sputnik/+bug/1500387/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1500387] Re: System boots to a black screen and the customer has to close the lid and reopen it to trigger a DPMS event and then video is restored
I'm not sure if its entirely related to this bug. Several times I have had the screen blacked out during normal use. It doesn't happen to me nearly as frequently as the log in issue, but is problematic . dpms event restores the screen. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1500387 Title: System boots to a black screen and the customer has to close the lid and reopen it to trigger a DPMS event and then video is restored To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1500387/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Pedro Coca, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Could you please run the following command from a terminal as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xorg 1500387 Please ensure you have the package xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes button for attaching additional debugging information. When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu- bug' and the name of the package affected.
