This bug report was filed against an old version of Ubuntu. Can you confirm whether this is still an issue in natty? As ilogico said this bug seem to hang around in Karmic Amd64. Looking on ubuntu forum I found this solution: edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf Look for Section ¨Device¨ Add this line: Option ModeValidation NoTotalSizeCheck Restart X It´s solved at this way, but I think we should have this note on release notes for Jaunty at least, also if it´s possible the program nvidia- xconfig should detect the video card and add this line itself.
