I notice what appears to be the same thing in Precise. Due to bug 919398 wondering if they're related. The graphics corruption was always colourful or rather it displayed the broken user background image. Well, since I've mentioned it isn't colourful anymore - rebooted after latest updates and it's colourful again. Let's focus this bug on the problem as it pertains to radeon cards. For people with nvidia hardware seeing corruption on login, please use bug #931967. These two bugs *might* be one and the same, but until we're certain let's treat them as two driver-specific bugs that just happen to have the same symptoms. The reason is because the bug seems not to affect -intel, -nouveau, or -fglrx. Sarvatt reminds me that -ati has had login corruption in the past.
