2016-04-25 Thread Seth Arnold
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

[Ubuntustudio-bugs] [Bug 1573206] Re: GNOME Software does not install third-party .deb packages

2016-04-25 Thread Tim Hitchins
Hi, this has been fixed upstream. If you still have issues, please fully
update with:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

and check again. If it isn't working, please restart. Finally, if you're
fully up to date (check again after the restart) please post back here,
and we will look into it. Your Ubuntu distro would be helpful info too.

gnome-software and pressed Install - nothing, except for a super-quick progress
bar animation, happened. No matter how many times I tried, same result. Also,
an icon pops up on the panel saying "Waiting to install", but nothing seems to
happen.

This only seems to happen with third-party packages; installing a
  random deb from packages.ubuntu.com/xenial worked.

I even tried to reinstall the system to make this work, but same

Gdebi, however, installs the packages as expected.

2016-04-25 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

linux mint maya mate vlc malfunction

Vlc reported a failure when I tried to convert a video .flv file to an .mp3
file in order to strip the audio.
The message was: ffmpeg missed a mpegI/II layer 3.
Replaced libavcodec53 with libavcodec-extra-53 to solve the problem.
It was successfull.

Have a nice day.
