[Unattended] File copy fails
Tony, I just started using Unattended last week. I was able to get my first workstation up and running with no problems. Then I tried my second workstation and bam I got the atapi.sys unable to copy error as well. I saw you posted on the mailing list you had that issue. Were you able to get it resolved? [Unattended] Information : PDFCreator 0.8.1 RC4 - "Setup language" Choice - AFPLGhostscript
Hi, I got a lot of troubled in achieving silent install of Pdfcreator 0.8.1 (there is a language choice for installation...I took time in it because it is far better than 0.8.0..) So, i give feedback (maybe I do it at the wrong place...really sorry if so...and also for my poor English). 1- On a clean PC Run install PDFCreator-0_8_1_AFPLGhostscript.exe /SAVEINF="path_To_\myfile.txt" 2- You can now install it PDFCreator-0_8_1_AFPLGhostscript.exe /LOADINF="path_To_\myfile.txt" /SILENT (etc) (bypassing the "setup language" choiceAccording to myfile.txt, you should be able to choose which language will be available...but I tried it twice...and it always install ALL languages filesanyway we can easily delete all and copy the one whe want, or play with pdfcreator.ini) Ini file is in %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\PDFCreator\PDFCreator.ini Hope this will help Ziad O'Hanlon. --- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users. Re: [Unattended] Tailor application installation

How can I configure the application installations. At the moment, there is a list of examples. Would like to remove some of the examples and then add the new packages. Remove installation package from your repository: Delete the corresponding bat file from your \\server\install\scripts dir, delete corresponding setup files from \\server\install\packages. Add installation package to your repository: easy part: create a new subdir in \\server\install\packages, place original setup files of application into it. difficult part: create a bat file invoking setup.exe of your application with appropriate switches for silent installation. Because every application has it's own silent switches, creation of bat file will take some searching effort, good starting points: http://board.msfn.org/ http://www.appdeploy.com/packages/browse.asp?cat=all http://www.ubertechnique.com/unattended/Scripts http://unattended.sourceforge.net/documentation.php this mailing list, of course HTH Gerhard --- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users. [Unattended] DNS + ntinstall form bzimage installation
Hi Using unattended 4.6. So far so good apart from a few queries. Once the bzimage has booted, to mount to the smbfs z:\, I have to use the IP address of my server instead of using //ntinstall/install. The cname alias works fine on the local LAN. When I go into the bash on the client pxe machine, I can not ping ntinstall. How do I configure the DNS for my client machines to be able to ping ntinstall regards Matthew -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
