Re: [Unattended] compiling a new kernel
On Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 07:33:15PM +0300, Nyström Anders enlightened us: help needed with understanding of compilation with new content. 1, download unattended - OK 2, make download - OK 3, make all - OK (stage1/.../modules.dep and stage2/.../modules.dep are real files) 4, changes in Makefile (linux=linux.2.25-rc9, download= .../testing) - OK 5, make download - OK 6, make all - OK (stage1/.../modules.dep is file, but stage2/.../modules.dep is bad link not a file) perhaps I do not know how a Make should work but when PXE booting with this tftpboot, boot process complains about failed to load lib/modules/.../modules.dep what am I doing wrong? As mentioned in an earlier thread - you need to update misc/nail-floppy.txt to be sure that the correct modules are included in the boot media, and not referenced to /z/linuxaux.
