[UC] More reports of changing health plans
Health insurance profits and stocks have been skyrocketing as the sham reform debate continues. All across America people are not being allowed to keep their insurance plans as President Obama asserted. Like 29,000 PA small business people have had their Personal Choice plan dropped, this is quietly happening to people across the country. (Here is a report from California. My comment is #30) This weekend, Anthem Blue Cross in California announced that their rates would go up as high as 39% in the next year. http://news.firedoglake.com/2010/02/08/the-future-of-health-care-described/ You are receiving this because you are subscribed to the list named UnivCity. [UC] Inspiring heroes, Drs arrested for health care
Here is the link to Dr. Margret Flowers on Bill Moyer's Journal. The President had made a forceful request for alternative health care proposals in his state of the union speech. All of his stated requirments would be easily answered by a medicare for all system, but it was a hollow request. Single payer experts have been denied a place in the health care debate since the beginning. This is a proven well documented and recorded fact. In our nit-wit society, Drs. Flowers and Paris provide a much needed model for inspiring heroism! This is a must see video clip and discussion. http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/02052010/watch3.html The juxtaposition of the bold request from the bully pulpit and the letter from this national medical organization demonstrates the process piloted in our neighborhood, and neighborhoods across the country. Using the powerful media spin machine, inclusiveness and transparency are always pretended in front of the public. But the process that actually occurs is tightly controlled with a phony debate among the elite and powerful moneyd interests. The process for silencing the most important voices, who back the general public and not the special interest, has been thoroughly tested during the decade of the housing bubble and the national gentrification movement. The housing bubble provided the perfect laboratory to test the civic literacy of the middle class and their commitment to democratic values and processes! I think our neighborhood showed all of the elements of the plutocracy process succeeding with little resistance! Compare the local and national process: Think of who is allowed at the FOCP planning committee and the SHCA zoning committee meetings It is a bold lie to say that these committees are inclusive and transparent. It is also a lie that national debates about health care, banks, and wars are open and honest. The powerful spin machine overwhelms reporting of the true process and too many people shut their eyes to the sham until it hits them directly.
