RE: [UC] A second press release from UCD

2007-06-14 Thread Kyle Cassidy

The reason that you didn't get the press release about the three new baby
tigers at the Philadelphia Zoo is not because Pete Hoskins and the rest of the
board are hiding information from you, it's because you're not a member of the
PRESS. By definition PRESS releases go to the PRESS where they pile up on the
floor next to the fax machine. UCD's press release made it to the list a lot
faster than any other press release from any west philly entity I can think of,
which is hardly secret.

A secret press release is just very very new to me, and I'm not that all
together, as you've read about on the list.

None of that surprises me, but I just wanted to be sure that you've noticed
the impact of your posts.

Mel,

Do you think the poor UCD is engaged in the big cover-up because they're afraid
of my posts? Are you afraid to disclose information honestly because of me?
If I have that effect, I need to ask myself some serious questions.

Melani, I'm sorry. Tell Lewis that I'm sorry too.

If Lewis or you are excited to disclose the whole truth and nothing but the
truth, I promise to behave myself and will not ask a bunch of lunatic
questions. A secret press release is just very very new to me, and I'm not
that all together, as you've read about on the list.

Thanks so much for your pleasant and extremely informative reply,

Always yours,
Glenn

I didn't get it on Friday. I understand that it was released on Friday to
the media, but apparently has not been picked up. Tony is part of the media,
so it isn't odd that he received it, but since it's dated Friday, he probably
didn't get it Thursday at the meeting. Another list member shared it with me

Melani,

If UCD has a page on their web site called, University City District News, why
would they not post an official press release on it? You and some unidentified
listserv character have it.

But wait Melani, you refused to answer any questions about this UCD matter.
Now, you have the previously unknown, June 8, press release. You and UCD are
getting me very confused and a bit suspicious.

The UCD released a second press release on Friday. It seems not to have been
picked up by the media. I became aware of it through another listserv member,
and I've received an OK to put it on the list:

  June 8, 2007
University City District has made numerous documented attempts to contact
John Fenton asking him to respond to the matter under investigation. Our calls
and letters have gone unanswered. He still remains on paid administrative leave.

Plus, here is the original release, for anyone still looking for a copy:

The University City District, a special services non-profit, is conducting an
internal investigation to ascertain the accuracy of a recent media report
stating that a staff member used organization resources to assist in setting up
for a political event. The staff member has been placed on paid administrative
leave pending the investigation. The UCD leadership is reviewing the matter and
will determine an appropriate course of action once all the facts are known.
