I discovered this one day on my way to the park -- I had spotted a trail bees flying over the fence, and looked over, and there were the hives, stacked among the ivy. and it was dave trickett who minded them. I remember talking to him about the bees there (up close, you could smell the honey): he'd been doing it since '95, harvested twice a year, and split the hives about once a year, using bees from hives he had in pennsylvania and new jersey. he bottled his honey and sold it at sam's place (I got a jar, it was nice.) http://www.sas.upenn.edu/~rrorke/Play/food/localhoney.jpg this was back in august, 2005. ..
